Ok- I am on Weight Watchers, and hence watching the calories. BUT- I have been craving fried cheese sticks like crazy!!!! Well, I had an idea to make my own "baked at home" version.

:crazy2: :sad2:

Why do I bother? Blech. They are horrible. I bought light mozzarella string cheese, and dipped it in egg, then in italian breadcrumbs, and put them in the oven to get "crisp." I heated some pizza sauce to dip them in. They looked really good, but just taste like garbage.

Anyone else have a recipe makeover story? Good or bad?

Yeah, I tried to bake my chinese egg rolls. Yuck. They were chewy and icky. There's nothing more to say.

Whenever I try a food experiment, I try it with as little ingredients as possible, so I don't end up tossing out everything if it turns out yukky! :stir:

I'm on WW too...LOVE IT!

I've had pretty good luck with doing low fat versions of what I've always cooked.

The only thing I've tried as an experiment was a recipe that I got off the WW boards.

You take a can of pumpkin, add it to a box of yellow cake mix, mix in some cinnamon, nutmeg, and pinch of cloves. Add enough water to make it easy to spoon into muffin pan.

Bake as cupcakes according to box directions. Makes a great spice cake!

Eat it warm with a little fat free cool whip! I think it worked out to be about 3.5 points per cake.
