Anyone else thinking about Hurricane Frances

Ok, I figured it was time to start the Hurricane Frances thread. We are suppose to drive down this Friday from NC and stay till Monday. With no clear path yet, it is hard to decide whether to go or not. We were also celebrating our daughter's 4th birthday then. Disney also has no clear thoughts on it without a better path.

So, for all who are also nervous, concerned or unsure, here is our spot to spout off.

We are also watching it very closely (I keep hoping for a forecast that has the hurricane making a sharp turn and not hitting landfall at all... obviously I haven't found it yet).

We're flying to Tampa on Friday morning and spending the Labor Day weekend in Venice (on the Gulf Coast) before heading up to WDW on Tuesday. I'm hoping that we'll be a little better off being on the Western side of Florida (though I realize that nowhere is safe from Frances' wrath).

Here's hoping for the best for everyone!

We're flying down Friday morning, and have made indoor plans for Saturday. I'm hoping for the Floridians who just got their power back, that it veers off to the sea. I'm hoping that for myself as well : )

My trip isn't for 2 weeks but since I live in Southeast Florida, I am watching the weather channel more than usual. I'm hoping it will turn to the north and avoid any land but that doesn't look likely. Maybe she will be a good girl and weaken. Fingers crossed

We're flying into Orlando on Thursday..We're concerned and feel a tad bit worried, but it's not overly worried as the predictions and path can change at any time

Still pray that it will stay at sea and just take off..far from land!!!

It is way too early to say with any certainty whether or not Frances will hit Florida. All we are doing is praying that it veers northward and we try not to listen to the weather channel too often because it can cause great anxiety to hear about those "projected possible paths" too often.

We will have a much better idea about its path come Thursday, but it will still be a projection. We were evacuated from our house for Charley (I am about 1 mile from the gulf) and they were 98% certain it was going to hit Pinellas county, then at the last hour they rushed to tell everyone in Port Charlotte to get ready because it was headed there instead. We evacuated to my brother's house in Orlando and the hurricane came right with us. My brother and (DD at UCF) were without power for a week. We have been travelling back and forth every weekend trying to help them clean up.

I'll just pray it veers northward into open seas.

Just made a foray to the bookstore to stock up in case we're resort bound. Unfortunately, first two nights are at RPR at US rather than Disney. I'd be more comfortable in the safety concious confines of WDW, but we're prepared to make the best of it, whatever comes.
