Anyone else think they should require CC hold for ADRs?

I wouldn't like a fee to make a reservation at all. Since I usually purchase the DDP, I have no desire to "add" something to that cost just because I got a reservation that I wanted.

I'm glad they don't charge for missing reservations except at a few select places. Sometimes, people who have no intentions of skipping a reservation end up missing them. I haven't missed many, but in 2009, I spent the 1st 5 days we were supposed to be at WDW in a trauma center in GA. I had reservations for those days. Granted, our friends kept all but the 1st day (the wreck was the day we were to arrive at WDW). Honestly, we didn't think anything about those reservations that first day. I hope they took walkups, but I really don't know. I barely remember those days.

I do not necessarily see this working - I wouldn't mind putting reservations on my credit card, but I know things come up that might make me unavailable for my time (which might mean canceling 2 hours before instead of 24 hours)

I read on another board (and forgive me if it's already been written on this thread, I didn't read every post), but another DISer said something to the affect that they do not think it would work for doing it with ALL the restaurants because of the excuses/rightful reasoning people come up with would be too much of a hassle for Disney - for example:
*But the monorail broke down and I couldn't make it on time
*My daughter got sick on Tower of Terror and we couldn't possibly think of eating, we had to take her back to the room
*But I *did* cancel my reservation - why was my credit card charged!!
Etc., Etc. (again, just paraphrasing what this poster said on another thread).

I think that it would be too much of a hassle for Disney - too much work for what it's worth - for all restaurants.

BUT Disney should see that some restaurants are becoming more booked than others and adding a few more restaurants to the CC-hold (i.e. LE Cellier, Ohana, Chef Mickey's), wouldn't be too bad. Gradual steps and maybe eventually it would be okay to add them all.

Okay - done now. :)

Closing this one, since it's basically the same discussion as the thread that was just closed earlier today.
