Anyone else think the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train looks nauseating?

There used to be a ride on the Wildwood, New Jersey boardwalk called The Flying Bobs that had "bobsleds" that rocked as you went around the track forwards and then backwards. If I survived them as a kid, I think I can handle the 7DMT. It looks pretty tame to me and I've never been motion sick.

In truth, I'm more worried about the size of the cars and my fat butt.

:thumbsup2 Agree! I am excited and nervous all at the same time! It is pretty sad that I did not feel good at all after getting off the Barnstormer 2 years ago, Space Mountain last year and don't even get me started on EE! I could not get out of the gift shop exit fast enough cause I thought I was going to hurl! I haven't rode BTMR since 2001 cause I am too nervous I will get sick! But I can ride TOT and RNRC all day long with no issues! :confused3 I am going to try Dramamine this September as there is no way I am not riding 7DMT! :goodvibes
:offtopic: Sorry to go off topic for just a moment, but have you tried those Sea Bands? I have no personal experience with Dramamine or the Sea Bands, so this is just based on what my friends/relatives have said about using them... many people seem to prefer the Sea Bands for motion sickness, because the Dramamine makes them feel sleepy. Anyway, just wanted to throw that out there - no idea if they would work better for you or anything, but it may be worth trying if you happen to be one who gets sleepy when taking Dramamine. :goodvibes

Hello! :wave2: No, I have never even heard of Sea Bands! I was told I should buy the non-drowsy version of Dramamine, but I am thinking I may look into these Sea Bands :scratchin Besides getting sick, the last thing I want to be is sleepy! Thank you so much for the recommendation! :worship:

be careful with the Dramamine. I used it at an amusement park. It was the non drosey type and I was half asleep the whole time.

Yeah, I think if you get motion sick, you may have an issue on this ride. If you don't get motion sick, I don't think there will be any issues. I'm just as excited for the atmosphere of the ride (the animatronics) as for the ride itself. Can't wait!

I'm really looking forward to this ride,I think it looks quite tame, plus there not going to have the swaying of the ride too distracting others wise it would impair the enjoyment of seeing the animatronics.

To me it appeared that they rotated in concert with the banked turns, rather than a uncoordinated rocking backing and forth, thereby making for an even more stable feeling ride.

This!

This is a ride in 'Fantasyland' and is for families (ie. with small children) so it's not going to be a wild back and forth motion.

It's also not meant to be a coaster that would appeal to thrill seekers and I am amazed at the adults that are (subconsciously maybe) looking forward to it in that light. :confused3

You're most welcome! And, I agree with the PP who suggested trying any new medications at home before you go. Good luck!!! :goodvibes

We were there in April and watched them test the track with weights in the cars. I am assuming to simulate conditions similar to car packed with people.

It does appear to be a tame ride, but with quite a bit of swaying. I have motion sickness and have decided to take a pass on the next trip. Can ride typical rollercoasters fine...but that swaying motion would definitely be a problem.

That's what I thought. What makes me feel ill is if a ride forces an unnatural or unexpected movement versus what you can see coming up.

This ride looks terrifying! The executive that signed off on this death-trap should be fired - then prosecuted!

Don't ride it! Don't let your kids ride it! Discourage your friends from riding it! :scared1:

Please, don't waste your limited FPs on this menace!

Think it will work?

If you have issues with rocking, but don't want to take a drug like Dramamine, you may want to consider getting some ginger chews. There's a brand called "The Ginger People" that makes these chewy ginger candies (not "candied ginger, which can be gross), and they're great for battling seasickness. I buy the in bulk at Whole Foods and take them on cruises. Never had a problem since I started doing that.

That said, it does appear that the rocking is minor, and mostly seems to be smoothing out the ride's motion. Shouldn't be nearly as bad as something like the teacups.

Nope, not on this guy! Swing away, ye coaster vehicles!

Not likely, but it was worth a try!

Oh man I hope it's really cool. It looks so much like BTMRR that I'm worried they'll be just alike.
