I hate it when guys cut their sleeves off and think it is cool!! Then get your boys into doing the same thing!! For some reason it just looks so red neck and low class to me...putting on my flame suite but yeah I do think this..anyone else???

Cutting the sleeve off an old t-shirt instead of buying a sleeveless is no big deal. I had guy friends who used to work out a lot and they would get old shirts that were already stained or something, cut the sleeve and wear them. They told me it was something in the sleeve that bothered them. I think they are ugly but the guys were comfortable.

Nope none of my guys work out..they just cut them out..I usually throw them away!! I just can't stand them! I don;t really know why it bugs me so much but I just hate it. I don;pt think it looks good at all...:scared:

Do you really want to start a post about what some people think of other people's choices in life? Does that mean we can post about how we feel about people that have their girls in cheerleading, for example?

Class is a difference of opinion. You may not "like the look" of cut off shirts on men, but that doesn't mean they are rednecks and low class. That's quite a generalization.

My son is one who does cut the sleeves off some shirts. He is a truck driver and when he has runs in the southern states he wears those shirts. He also shaves his head and wears a do-rag. Is that "low class" as well?

He does clean up purty dang good though, and knows when to wear proper pants and a proper shirt. :rotfl:

Let the war commence! :furious:

You know, this thread reminds me of Pop Daddy. Just because he wears his shirts like that. It doesn't look bad at all on him. I miss that guy. Wonder where he's been?

In Larry's defense...his cutoffs look "tailored". Much more high class redneck.:lmao:

Golfgal's got a point as well.

Just be careful. I don't like the cut off sleeveless look as a fashion statement--but sometimes, people aren't out to make fashion statements with what they wear. I don't quite equate it to a "redneck" look though. But that depends on if Jeff Foxworthy's got a joke for that one as well.

I had a step-father once that was all redneck. Cut off sleeves would have been...an improvement.:lmao:

Yes this...my husband has a few shirts like this and he wears them to mow the lawn or work on cars(he installs stereos for fun...lol). He is NOT a redneck and we are not low class...as far as I know:lmao:.......Plus...sometimes if a man has the muscles...why would you complain?;)

Around here the younger guys like to wear their baseball hats off to the side. It drives my DH absolutely up the wall because he thinks it makes them look like punks. He was a cow every time he sees my DS do it and I think it's pretty hilarious to be honest. Personally, I get that kids want to look cool, and as long as it's nothing obscene I'm ok with it even if I think it looks dopey. I seem to remember thinking rows and rows of plastic bracelets, neon tye dye, inches of eye make-up and MC Hammer pants on guys were cool back when.

All I know is I'm taking pictures so I can show this stuff off to my grandkids someday :rotfl2:

Basically, I don't think I have to like everything they do. As long as they let me sit dance in the car when MY music comes on I think were about even on the embarrassment issue.

I personally don't mind cutoff sleeves, but this thread reminds me of the episode of the Cosby Show where Dr Huxtable spent $90 on a shirt for Theo. Theo then cuts the sleeves off and comes downstairs before school. Cliff kept his cool, but he told Theo, "Somewhere, some time, you are going to wear those sleeves!"
