Hotel prices in Orlando seem to be going down. If you find a good deal and are willing to share, post it on this thread so we have them all in one place. I noticed Sky Auction has postings for Floridays and Blue Heron. I think that speaks volumes because I think of Skyauction as a last ditch effort for some of these places to rent for the summer.

I think prices will come down some, though I think Orlando may be a destination of choice for those who usually travel to the islands (Caribbean, Hawaii). It is drivable for many on the east coast and relatively cheap if you can limit your time in Disney. Even with gas at $4 a gallon and going up, it will still be cheaper to drive for many than a flight for a family of four.

You are right b/c if you fly you need some way to get around otherwise you are trapped at Disney. If you tip cab drivers and shuttle drivers that too tends to add up and I had heard that rental cars were sky high. Still with the crunch I see drops ...I got a post card from Disney Value hotels are 59.00 per night during the peak season. I have not seen that since my son was in first grade and he is now a sophmore in college.
