Anyone else SICK of Tom Cruise?

I used to like him. He was awesome in Top Gun. But now it is just getting too full of himself. Every time you turn around he is on some show, ie Oprah and now they are showing it again! :confused3

I'm curious if he's always been this way and his old publicist did a great job of keeping him in line or if he's acting like this in a misguided attempt to get publicity and it's backfired?

Either way, I've never been a big fan of Tom -- he seems to act the same way in most of his roles.

"you're a jerk" :rotfl: :rotfl:

I just had to throw this in, if you are in Mass, and listen to Howie Carr, he had me in STITCHES the other day, imitating Tom Cruise when he got squirted with the water. He was using a Micheal Jackson voice, it was too funny!

I've enjoyed manny of his movies, but his "public persona" got tiresome long ago.

Did a couple of cute movies when he was younger. Haven't been impressed with any of his more recent stuff. "Born on the Fourth of July" was probably his best work...lately they've mostly been action, "look at me I'm such a hero" movies.

As far as this thing with Katie Holmes...he's a fool (there's no fool like an old fool) and she's a bigger one. His track record isn't too hot...what makes her think she'll do any better? I'd be in a tizz if I was her mother! The fact that he was Tom Cruise wouldn't impress me.

As far as the Scientology stuff...I can't stand prolestylizing in any form, of any religion, including my own. IMHO, you are free to worship whomever or whatever you choose...don't jam it down my throat. If I am interested in hearing about your beliefs, I'll ask you. If I were at a meeting with TC and he started that crap, I'd leave too. I think rkrivas hit the naill on the head...his last publicist kept him in line some. Now that his sister's his publicist, and she's a Scientologist too, all bets are off.

::yes:: I refuse to watch any other show he's on for the next few weeks/months.

I am the OP . I just had to come back on here and let you guys know that when I left to take my son to camp this morning, we got in the car, turned on the radio and the DJ's were talking about......you know....UGH

Oh, well.....pride goeth before a fall.....

I loved some of his movies, Jerry Maguire, Top Gun, Risky Business, Rain Man...... I think his sister (new publicistj) is doing an awful job with his image. I bet this guy was ALWAYS this crazy but the former publicist kept it under cover. When I heard he was doing War Of the Worlds with Speilberg, I couldn't wait to see it. That was probably a year or so ago. Now, I do not plan on seeing this movie in the theatres. I predict this movie will lose some Box Office sales due to overexposed, strange behavior.

Not a fan of Tom Cruise...never have been...probably never will be...

Interesting...as a kid, I did not like Michael Jackson...I thought he was creepy...hmmm...coincidence?

This is exactly how I feel.

I've never cared about Tom Cruise. He looks fruity to me.

My daughter is an actress here in New York and was called to do some work on "War of the Worlds" I was getting a little nervous at first as he sometimes has his Scientology people there. As a young actress starting out, it would be intimidating for her at first because if you don't go along with them, do they blacklist you for future films? I was so glad when they called her and said they didn't need her for the scene. It was a relief.

Did Nicole join the Scientology church??

no and there is some speculation that one of the main 'issues' in their relationship was that she refused to convert and would not allow the children to be raised scientologist

Don't like him.....it amuses me that he's making such of a fool of himself.

The guy is clearly on too many Happy Scientologist Pills. Maybe it's time to reduce the dose. I can see they've already begun shoving them down poor ol' Katie's throat.

Someone did mention before about the media talking about how often Tommy boy is in the media. The media's total lack of irony is refreshing, what?
