I just finished wrapping and WOW- I overdid it! I think the problem was that I started shopping early this year... but never stopped! I am going to have to position the gifts under the tree so that DH doesn't realize quite how many there are! Oh well- at least the kids were extra good this year!:santa: :santa: :santa:

OMGosh YES! I, too, shopped early as we were going to Disney in the thick of the shopping season (got back on Wednesday night)...and like you, I didn't stop. And at this moment, I know I'm way ahead on DS so I feel like I need to shop MORE for DD. Though I might just take one of the gifts back (Heeleys...I don't know WHAT posessed me to purchase them...he's so clumsy I'm sure he'd kill himself with them). Taking those back might help even the haul...

Me too!
Shopped early and bought a couple of "big ticket items" which made it seem like I didn't have enough for them so I kept going and going.

Yes! But then I saved my own butt by asking the grandparents and aunts and uncles to help. I still got too much though. I bought the rose petal cottage and some of the furniture (MIL picked up the rest), the twintime dollhouse and about 10-12 furniture sets. My brother, SIL and BIL were all happy not to have to shop, so all but 3 of those will be from them. I also got her some things from the Childcraft site... like $50 classroom blocks and pattern blocks, and an easel. Thankfully relatives have taken most of that off my hands too. It was great. I got to really over-think about what she "needed" and would actually play with and pick out most of her toys, and the relatives were happy not to have to shop. I did most of my shopping online, so I ended up with a lot. There are a bunch of smaller things too. Plus I had to get her the Amazing McKayla doll that she wanted, knowing full well that she will probably not play with it. She doesn't even play with the animated features on Mickey's clubhouse. She usually doesn't like the toys that don't require imagination, and the doll is for 5 and up. However, this was the 1 thing she asked Santa for, and dd's name is Mikayla. We are also wrapping up a box to surprise her with a Disney trip in Feb. I used Disney Rewards $ to pay for a lot of the stuff in there, though.

I though dh would be upset, but he said we never spoil her, so it's ok to do it once in a while. I guess it helped that the relatives ended up taking $300 wort h of toys off our hands and we are paying for 1/2 of the trip with our bday and Christmas $.

Of course I did! I always vow that I won't...and then I can't stop myself. Especially DD...I don't spoil her too bad during the year but I can't help going overboard on Xmas! Oh well :)

My daughter name is also Micayla (Though obviously spelled different). My mother-in-law bought her the Amazing McKayla doll for Christmas. She loves that the doll has her name. She's going on 3 (March) and I'm not sure how this doll will fit into her world yet but she really wanted it and my MIL wanted to get it for her.

We buy 5 toys for each child (We have 2, Micayla and Geoffery, he's 8 months). There grandparents go overboard though. My mom just told me they each have like 11 or 12 things each from them at their house.

I WAY over did it too!! I started shopping much earlier than usual this year, wrapped and stashed presents in storage boxes around the house. DH say's there are presents he probably has no clue about...he is right! Starting earlier for me is dangerous because then when stuff goes on sale you get more. I have several stocking stuffers that I am going to put back up for birthday's and Easter baskets, I just have to find that stuff first... :confused3

Well, every single year I overdo it. This year I was determined not to buy them everything on their list (especially those toys that never ever get played with)....it just gets silly around here with all the 'nick nacks'. Anyhow, I purchased an equal number of gifts for all 5 of our children and only those 'top rated' gifts LOL that I know they'll get some play out of. For my husband I only bought 3 :) and again....things he could use ;)
