Yes! But then I saved my own butt by asking the grandparents and aunts and uncles to help. I still got too much though. I bought the rose petal cottage and some of the furniture (MIL picked up the rest), the twintime dollhouse and about 10-12 furniture sets. My brother, SIL and BIL were all happy not to have to shop, so all but 3 of those will be from them. I also got her some things from the Childcraft site... like $50 classroom blocks and pattern blocks, and an easel. Thankfully relatives have taken most of that off my hands too. It was great. I got to really over-think about what she "needed" and would actually play with and pick out most of her toys, and the relatives were happy not to have to shop. I did most of my shopping online, so I ended up with a lot. There are a bunch of smaller things too. Plus I had to get her the Amazing McKayla doll that she wanted, knowing full well that she will probably not play with it. She doesn't even play with the animated features on Mickey's clubhouse. She usually doesn't like the toys that don't require imagination, and the doll is for 5 and up. However, this was the 1 thing she asked Santa for, and dd's name is Mikayla. We are also wrapping up a box to surprise her with a Disney trip in Feb. I used Disney Rewards $ to pay for a lot of the stuff in there, though.
I though dh would be upset, but he said we never spoil her, so it's ok to do it once in a while. I guess it helped that the relatives ended up taking $300 wort h of toys off our hands and we are paying for 1/2 of the trip with our bday and Christmas $.
