Anyone else notice these bad odors in WDW?

I didn't notice a smell at Alfredos but I did notice the stench at Big River Grille - they say it's from the beer fermenting or something. It was horrid but after awhile I didn't notice it anymore.

The monorail has always stunk to me.

I think the MOnorail smell gets worse as the day goes on. I usually don't notice it in the mornings, but afternoons and evenings, oooohh, too many sweaty stinky bodies!

I don't recall a bad smelling mama-rail (my dd2's name for it :lovestruc ) but I do think that Splash Mt. smelled like wet dog. :pug:

OT but omigosh, my DS3 calls it "mama-rail" too! My DH was trying to correct him but I told him not to--I kinda like that name! :flower:

Worst smell ever - Last year we were in ToT and there was some kind of delay so we sat for about 10 minutes. I was stuck next to a couple that spoke French and my God did they stink! This wasn't even a little B.O. This was an unholy odor that filled the elevator. And if that wasn't bad enough, they both kept throwing their hands in the air when the ride was falling. :faint: I could see if it was July but this was a cool December day.

The worst part about it all was that the smell seemed to latch on to me after I got off. I had to leave DW and DD at the park while I ran back and showered and changed.

2 days later we were waiting in line for Philharmagic when ole' stinky and his wife got in line behind us. Same smell; same clothes even. Needless to say we came back later in the day.

I agree w/the stinky monorail. Smells like a zoo. Alfredos is also very pungent. I used to be a CM in the Germany/Italy/America area, so I can vouch for the strong cheese scent of Alfredos. It's the reason I can't bring myself to eat there! Also, what about the mildewy handles on Splash Mtn? :earseek:

I have always thought the monorail smells kind of like cow barn! My DH agrees with me on this one!

That's EXACTLY what I've always thought! But DH (who grew up on a dairy farm!) doesn't seem to smell it...go figure! :confused3

Maybe a bit of Fabreeze would help :flower:

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the smell of (presumably) fertilizer at the parks and resorts. It smells like horse pee to me (I've found myself wondering where the horses are!) but I assume it's chicken poop, a more traditional fertilizer.

Monorail cars always had condensation from their AC units. That plus the recycled air is probably the culprit. Although I wouldn't mind smelling that smell right about now! I'd love to be on my way back home to the Poly tonight! :goodvibes

I always think the monorail smells like horse poo. LOL Fertilizer of some sort.

I actually smelled it on our last trip one morning walking from the Contemporary to MK. We figured they must have just layed fresh maneur on the grounds. Peeeeeyew!!!

I read somewhere that the monorail smells like that because of the glue they used for the carpet... Now if that's true or not I don't know, but it does smell very...horsey!! They tried to rectify it, but this is the best it's going to be. Where I picked that little gem up from I don't know, could be someone pulling my leg.

The ride vehicles at Splash Mountain are really yucky. It's the smell you get on towels (or laundry) when they don't dry out very quickly.

While I never noticed an odor on the monorail I did notice that the theater for the Little Mermaid show at MGM smells very musty - I guess all of the misting during the continuous shows leaves everything damp - I also commented to my husband that an area in Epcot smelled like rotten garbage but he dismissed me and said Disney would never let garbage sit long enough to rot, I know I'm right garbage+heat=stink everywhere (even in Disney)

We were at AK on October 15, and along the Pangani Forest Trail it really smelled bad. Much like body odor. DH and I both noticed it independent of one another.

A little while later, a CM walked by and commented on the smell as well. I said, yes, we were wondering what it was. He told us it was the male gorillas. Apparently it's their way of telling the women they're ready to mate. Yikes! It surely wouldn't attract me!

Way back in 1994, my pretty much forced my sister to eat lunch with me at Prime Time in MGM. That place smelled like a gramma's house complete with mildew covereded in pledge! It was awful and I still refuse to eat here for that reason!

Not a bad odor, but have you ever noticed the strong chlorine smell in the Polenesian, you know, when you first walk in the front door? Must be the water in the waterfalls in the lobby.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought you were referring to the horrible sewer smell in the Mousegears shop in Epcot and outside by the Test track. We could actually smell it coming out of the storm drains. This was about 2 days after Wilma.

All we could think was Epcot was in for some MAJOR sewer improvements.

The odor that hit us hardest was the B.O. It was PAINFUL. Have you ever seen the Ethan Allen commercial where the woman says dramatically, "The air was thick with perfume." My husband and I took turns saying to each other dramatically, "The air was THICK with body odor."

Oh yea, BO, especially from some foreign groups {I don't give a rosey red rat's backside if that was not PC, b_ _e me, bubba} I realize some europeans do not use deodorant in their country, but please, buy some when you come to the USA, won't you? :crazy2: :faint:
