Wish Disney had not decided to do that. This man deserves no honors. :sad2:

I had to look up Captain Eo. I am not a Michael Jackson fan at all. But I don't have anything against him. I think the pedophile stuff was just money grabbers. And I saw his movie this year on a cruise and I don't honestly believe he was all drugged up and stuff. He couldn't have been doing all the work on his comeback tour if he was so messed up. It definitely changed my opinion of him.

One of the great artists of our time. He is missed greatly.

Watch "This is it" ... it may change your opinion.

Never got to see Captain EO but am very happy to get the opportunity. Can't wait for HISTA to leave, that show is terrible.

I am thrilled to see the show as a nostalgia thing, not because I'm looking to honor MJ.

When I was a kid we lived in the Disney area and had season passes. Our favorite park was Epcot and we would even just go after school to watch the fireworks. I was a bit disappointed when I became an adult and wanted to take my own children that there were really not any attractions left in future world from my childhood. Obviously Disney cannot bring back any of the old rides, but they can bring back a show like Captain EO that people like me would love to share with my children. I can't wait to see this show and relive a bit of my childood... just hope it will still be playing in Oct.

I am just thrilled the HISTK is gone , that show and waiting queue was boring as ever.

Having never seen Captain EO, I can't comment. I would love to, though. However, I think although Michael has passed away, maybe they did bring Captain EO back for nostalgia reasons and based on popular demand. It is extremely popular, from what I've heard (because, again, I've not seen it, so I can't comment).

Also, I have to agree with others, "This is It" is definitely worth a watch. Many of my friends changed their opinions on him after seeing it.

I did not want to see Captain EO come back. Didn't think much of Michael in the 70's/80's and still don't. He was very talented but had many many many issues. Don't think it's Disney material, sorry.

In all honesty, I think the issues with MJ were primarily affected people in the US and around the rest of the world he is as big as ever. With Disneyland and Disney World being the two most-visited theme parks in the world, they are catering to the majority of people in the world.

Just my two cents. :thumbsup2

I was a big fan of MJ back in my younger days and I saw Captain EO when it was at Epcot before. The show was really outdated by the time it left. Can't imagine it being enjoyable to watch again.:confused3

Have any of you been forced by your kids to sit through "Honey I shrunk the audience?". Anything is better than that.

As for Michael Jackson, I don't believe he was ever convicted of anything untowards. Tabloids love blowing things out of proportions.

Maybe if "this man" had actually been convicted of any crime, Disney wouldn't have brought it back. I don't remember reading that it was specifically being brought back to "honor" him. Maybe I'm wrong... :confused3
Don't want to see it? Then don't. As other PP have mentioned, he has mass amounts of fans. Especially from other countries and they will be thrilled to see it!

After 10 years of yearly or more often WDW trips we're up to see something different. We'd catch HISTA every other trip, maybe, and althought we like it enough, we're looking forward to seeing this. Also, I hope they keep the Main St. Electrical Parade until we get there in March for another change of pace.

I barely remember seeing it when it was originally in EPCOT... not excited to see it back, but it's because I have no interest in seeing it.

Only reason I'd go see it is if my roommate wants to go. I told her I'd go on any ride/see any with her (since her boyfriend & third in our group is not a big ride person) and I feel bad having told her already there are 2 things I would not do :(

It's a terrible movie, go check it out for plot points on youtube.

However..... it is a piece of my childhood. Since I'm not gonna throw rocks at trains or play NINJA on a Commodore 64 any time soon, I'm content to sit in the theatre and let poor dialogue, unecessary 3-d effects and annoying fuzzball wash over me.

I hope it's there next April when we head out.

Yeah, it was "This Is It" that changed my mind about him.

So where is this Captain Eo going to be? In Disneyworld Florida? I'd like to tell my wife who is a big fan (the reason I sat through the movie to begin with).

I didn't know Captain EO was MJ, I definitely will not be seeing that show. He was never convicted of anything but IMO his public behavior was one that was NOT of a good role model for young people.
