Anyone else not looking forward to kids back to school?

I am not looking forward to it for the same reasons, and that I go back too :(

Yes and no. It will be nice to get my house back to myself, stays alot cleaner!;) I get alot more done during the school year, with getting up earlier and all. But, it sure is nice to sleep in, even my kids are this summer. We don't get up until 9. No hurry to get around and get everyone out of the house. No yelling about school project and homework..."did you do it?"...no, i need whatever from the store...so off we go at the last minute because of course they can never tell you before hand!" Plus, we have alot less running in the summer, only a couple of sports activities and that's it. It's one sport after another once school starts.

Yikes....I knew I like summer, now I know why!!!!;)

Im excited! DS starts full day Kindergarten this year, so I feel its a new beginning. I get up before 5:00am every day winter or summer, so that doesnt change.
Ill be even more excited the next year when DS#2 starts preshcool and I get a couple mornings a week to myself!!!! ;)

Being a kid I'm mixed.I don't want the whole 180 days of school. But summer break loses some of it's magnificense after a month.I also don't want to have to wake up at 5:40.

Another mixed emotions here. The kids are starting to irritate each other. It is like they were 3 and 6 again but now they are 14 and 17. They are bored and their friends are all gone on vacation(which we don't have the luxury of doing). But on the other hand my DS is going to be a senior and this is the last year that I will bake cookies on the first day of school for him. I will certainly miss hearing about the first day of school while sitting at the kitchen table with warm cookies and a tall glass of cold milk. He always goes into detail about the day. Whereas, DD just will say it was OK and leave it at that.

As for me, I sub at the middle/high school and I am anxious to see how everyone has matured over the summer. I like the interaction with the kids.

Well, my youngest just started today. I'll start my crossing guard duty tomorrow.

My youngest is on a new schedule at her school. They started the "year round" schedule. It's still the same 180, but they get longer breaks during the year.

My oldest doesn't start until Aug. 22. She's still on the regular schedule.
So, I will have two kids going to school on different days and times, And, I just found out that I have to work for a week during the breaks for the remediation period.

This is going to be fun. :D

Oh well, at least I'll have something to talk about. lol

Ugh!

As much as they fight w/each other when they are out of school...and I long for peace and quiet again....I am NOT looking forward to getting back into that school routine again!! Not to mention getting up early! I enjoy sleeping until 8:30-9:00 in the AM!

I'll have two middle schoolers this year! My oldest is ADHD and struggles tremendously. This year he'll be in a different class setting and he'll have an IEP. I'm hoping it'll make a diffference in his day, and that he'll want to do better and try harder. Last year was hard on ALL of us!

My younger son will be starting his first year in middle school...I'm hoping for a smooth transition.

To me it means I have to go back to work :( Two of us went to summer session so it is really no biggy but I do not look forward to going back to work any more than the next guy.

You'll have to let me see what it's like when they ARE in school first for me to answer that question! lol

dd5 starts full day kindegarten this year, and I am really excited for her. She gets pretty bored hanging out with me. ;) DS4 starts a program called Universal Pre-K, which is 1/2 day every day. Pretty much like how kindegarten used to be, I assume.

This will also give me a chance to have some one on one time with my youngest, who will be 1 in September. And, maybe a little time for myself, too. :D

I like having my kids around during the lazy days of summer.

I'm already dreading getting up early and all the paperwork they're going to bring home that first week for me to fill out. :(

I am so not looking forward to school starting again. :(

Wrestling DS into his uniform, getting him there on time, making sure his homework gets done--I'll miss these carefree days a lot.

I don't wanna go back!!!!

homework and tons...crazy teachers, marching band and even worse stuff!!
SAT and ACT and PSAT(the things I haven't studied for yet!) and also AP tests!! ahhhh

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't wanna get up at 5:50

and the worst thing is-
my DIS time like goes to nothing! :(
my post count is gonan suffer! :( :(

I am SO not looking forward to school starting up again! The kids are mean, they tease me and make fun of me, I never have my work done on time, I don't want to be the teacher! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

I don't look forward to DDs going back to school either. They're good kids most of the time. DD1 will be in eighth grade and DD2 will be in sixth. We've done all kinds of stuff during the summer, even if it's just going to the mall and not buying anything. I also watch my niece and nephew and he will be starting kindergarden and she will be starting preschool. Sooo it's just me for a couple of hours.

Even while I'm reading this post, my DD7 is pulling out all her new school supplies to show her friend. No question she's ready to go back - all we hear is 'I'm bored'. DS7 doesn't want to think about school - too busy playing pokemon and nintendo and wallball with the big guys. Mom NEEDS dd4 to go back so I'm not constantly worrying about what she's getting into and what destruction she's wrought around the house! ;)

YEP - I'm ready!

I cannot wait until school starts again. Even though there are more things to worry about, I like the structure it brings to the house. House stays clean for at least a few hours before they get home. Phone and internet to myself. Less sleepovers! Noone asking for cash every 15 minutes for the pool, local conveniece store outings, amusement parks, etc. Less driving to and from the mall, movies, pool, friends houses, etc. Earlier bedtime...aaaahhh I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!

I couldn't have said it better!!!!:) Plus, they are ready to go. DS (12) said today, he can't wait. He's getting bored. We are on vacation next week. Then 2 weeks before school starts. :Pinkbounc
