Anyone else not find Matterhorn that Bumpy?

I think for me it depends on where I sit. I frequently ride single rider as none of my kids ever want to go on it. I usually end up in the back, which is fine except on the last bit of track. When I get air time, I end up hitting my tailbone, which throws everything off. If I'm in proper bracing position (yes, that's a thing people have developed), I'm fine. I've never been in the middle seat, but I don't have any of the same issues when I ride in the front. Honestly, at this point in my life, I love that ride so much I don't really care if it jars me a bit as long as I can brace myself for the last dip.

It is bumpy or jerky or whatever you want to call it, but that's just how the roller coaster is. Either it aggravates you or it doesn't, so if you have ridden it and it bothers you--don't ride it. If you have never experienced the ride, I'd suggest doing it at least once. I love the ride and I don't have bad enough back problems that it hurts me for an elongated period of time. I don't mind it at all.

It’s literally the only ride I won’t go on. I try it every two years, just in case...

I’m going to have to ride it next Friday when we take some tourist friends and I’m already dreading it.

It also depends on what side. The left side, as you face the two queues is definitely bumpier. I also noticed if I learn forward instead of sitting back it is less bumpier too.

It will be closed down for several months soon, so will have to see how it feels after that.

While I find it jerky, I don't consider it that painful (granted, I'm young lol). I just brace for impact and never get too hurt

My last trip a few weeks ago it wasn't nearly as bad as it was a few other times. I mean it's bumpy, but it wasn't "omg everything hurts and I'm dying" bad.

It's kind of bumpy and jerky, but not in a bad way for me. It's part of what I like, to be honest! I'm 5'1" and 115 lbs so maybe that has something to do with it.

Like other have said, but with an additional tip. Lean forward, butt on the seat with back not resting against the seat. Both hands on the bars in front of you to help support. It's my daughters favorite ride, figured this out after 6 trips in a row during a low crowd day :)

Yes, it’s crazy bumpy but that’s why we love it. That’s part of its charm for us. I do feel like since they replaced the cars it has gotten a little less violent but if they ever made it smooth I would be so sad!

I haven’t read that and can’t find that info anywhere, where did you hear that? It just had a major rehab to change the cars.

My son rode it for the first time last weekend and promptly proclaimed "I didn't like it. It's too bumpy."

He's 12.

Yeah, it's WAY too bumpy.

I love Matterhorn and don't find it jarring or uncomfortable at all. I ride it as many times as I can when I'm in the parks. My sister feels the same way - it is one of our favorite rides! We always get the same response - Oh I bet your back hurts now! - after we get off but honestly I've never had any kind of pain or anything from it. Now Indiana Jones?? Yeah that ride is TERRIBLE - I walk away with bruises every time I ride it.

^^^ this! I get off that ride feeling like I’ve been in a car accident!

I am big enough that I just brace myself on all sides and I survive enough where I want to ride it again. I have said for years that if Disneyland would put in a chiropractor where the old smoking section used to be immediately after getting off the ride that they would make a fortune.

Yep! I sit leaning forward/into the ride with my knees bent, and this puts pressure off of the tail bone and onto the *stronger* pelvic bone. My body sways like a suspension bridge but it's not so shocking on the joints!
