I was just at the WDW site trying to price out a few vacation options and it won't let me add the dining plan to the new MWY package. Yesterday it had a "Disny Recommends" tab and that would add the dining plan, but today it is gone and I can't find any link or way to add the dining plan. Has anyone else noticed this or know if you can't add it anymore? TIA!

Maybe they're working on the site. :confused3

Have you tried calling CRO?

800-828-0228

No, I haven't tried calling anyone. I was just curiosity seeking if you know what I mean... What does CRO mean?

I was playing around (thinking about changing resort) and I could not add the dining plan either....strange. :badpc:

We have had a nightmare with the dining plan. We booked to stay in Pop Century for 5 nights and then AKL for 7 nights. In order to get the dining plan for the whole stay we would need to buy 2 lots of theme park tickets ie 2 7 day tickets instead of one 14 day ultimate ticket (we are in the UK). This is because Disney insist on linking up Hotel, separate park ticket and dining plan on their computer system. Anyway we were really disappointed but opted to buy 1 set of tickets that Disney could link to the second part of our holiday so that we could get the dining plan for the second part (ie whilst at AKL). I checked 3 times whether we would still be able to get the theme park tickets for the first part of holiday whilst at POP and they assured me I would. Anyway, I called for some other reason and checked again and this time I got a different reply - I would not get the park tickets until we got to AKL !! Needless to say I cancelled the whole dining plan and tickets and bought them elsewhere. Has anyone else had this problem. It seems that if you want to try different hotels at Disney then you cannot get the dining plan because the computer system cannot cope with it. I tell you my Husband could have written a far better syste. I just cannot believe that a bit company like Disney had not thought of this!!

So sorry! I hate that "glitche" as well. I don't understand why they could not link the Disney Owned resorts???? Doesn't the profit go to the same investors?????

OTOH, there is a way around it, although it still involves more $$$$. You are eligible for the dining plan during your entire stay (per one booking) even if you just purchase a one day base park admission ticket. That is...get your 7 day park tickets + dining at Pop Century and then get AKL stay + 1 day base ticket (for each person of your party) + dining (for the rest of your stay at AKL).

HTH!

We were having the same problem. We are planning a summer trip and decided to stay at CSR for 5 nights then move to BC for 5 more nights. We wanted to buy a 10 day park hopper to cover the entire stay AND I really wanted dining the entire stay!!! I KNEW there had to be a way that we didn't have to buy 2 park tickets since we were following all their rules, park ticket, on site, etc.......So I sent an e-mail stating the above info and received a call back from guest services. They said the computer system is set up this way and that it needs an override (CRO can't do this) to get what I needed. I guess it's not that often that people want a split stay, tickets and dining... Anyway, they set me up and I now have dining the entire stay without having to pay for 2 tickets. They told me that when I ran into this problem (on the 800#) I could have asked for guest services and they would accomidate me. Guest services # is 407-939-7657. It took some work, but I did get what I wanted and they were very pleasant to work with. Hope this helps!!! :flower3:

I wonder if they can help me? :confused3

We're only staying at one resort, but our trip is for 11 nights. The only way the system will allow American guest to book the dining plan for more than 10 nights, is to purchase two sets of tickets. I will also have to pay a higher deposit.

Since I'm purchasing PAPs, I don't need 2 one day base tickets. :badpc:

I'll call the guest service number to see if they can help me.

Disneyjunkie, I would definately call guest services and ask. If they so no, then I'd be pretty sure that it could not be done. Good luck!!! :goodvibes

Wow! That is some awesome information! If it wasn't that we actually need the extra ticket I would try to get the charges for the one base ticket removed!

OTOH, and at risk of hijacking the post (sorry!) would adding a day (to our 10 day Premium Tix we already have; btw, Park Hopper and H20 parks were free additions since we booked w/AAA) be less expensive than adding the single one day base tix (which is really a Premium Tix since that is the promotion that AAA has at this time...or at least one of them???)????

TIA! :confused3

Thanks for that. Problem is that we have now already booked tickets through another agent (cheaper). I might see if I can cancel those if Disney will sort the dining plan out for me and then get the tickets through Disney again. What a palava!!

Well the TA we are working with tried, but no luck. Some consistency on their part would be nice!
