We just did a suprise trip. We told the kids we were looking at a neat car DH wanted to buy. When we got to Harbor, my DD put her window down and said it smelled like the ocean. Oh yeah, totally love that girl! Then, she saw a sign for Disney parking and put two and two together. I recorded her reaction, and then my 3 yo DS's reaction to big sisters reaction. It was priceless.
We're from Utah too, so it was a very long journey. The kids were way more patient not knowing than the times they did know. The surprise is totally worth it.Good luck!
'Not gonna lie. I teared up. ROFL![]()
I'm planning a surprise trip!!! The biggest surprise????...........WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!
We've done 2 other surprise trips, the last in 2009 and they found out via Mickey mail about 3 weeks before the trip. The first was in 2007 and we surprised them by throwing them in the car at 2 am the day after Christmas and they woke up on Disneyland Drive!!! My oldest had just started reading and she commented on how there was a lot of Disney stuff around us. I had her read the street sign (we were "looking for some place to eat") and she very sweetly sounded out "Disneyland Drrrr". For WDW we are telling them we are flying to Austin for DHs conference and grandma and papa are tagging along because we have family there. Once we get to Texas we'll put them in "I'm going to Disney World" shirts before hopping onto our connecting flight to Orlando!

Too funny!
That's how I feel when someone actually responds to my posts! Nothing worse than posting a new thread, and having a gazillion people view it, but nobody replies (much like my current PTR that nobody has replied to).

My 6 year old has been pining, seriously pining, for DL. She watches LM ride on youtube repeatedly. Then she told Grammie that she wishes Grammie could go do DL with us some day. And YES, Grammie is going on this trip!
What are your travel dates, and I will add you to the list?!?!
I'm too lazy to figure it out based on your ticker![]()
3 days until we leave and DD's 6 and 9 are CLUELESS!!!! --no thanx to me almost blowing it, ....repeatedly. Fortunately we have a big family trip to DLR in November, so when I did almost blow it they assumed that I was refering to Nov.

That's cute!! My 4 year old told me the other night she wants to go to Disneyland in 10 weeks. I was giggling inside since our WDW trip is in 11 weeks....she's so close!
