Anyone else keeping THE secret? Updated list p. 4

We just did a suprise trip. We told the kids we were looking at a neat car DH wanted to buy. When we got to Harbor, my DD put her window down and said it smelled like the ocean. Oh yeah, totally love that girl! Then, she saw a sign for Disney parking and put two and two together. I recorded her reaction, and then my 3 yo DS's reaction to big sisters reaction. It was priceless.

We're from Utah too, so it was a very long journey. The kids were way more patient not knowing than the times they did know. The surprise is totally worth it. :) Good luck!

Did you put it on YouTube? It sounds so familiar to one that I saw. Great job at keeping the secret, and I keep telling myself that it will bo so worth it!

I'm planning a surprise trip!!! The biggest surprise????...........WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!

We've done 2 other surprise trips, the last in 2009 and they found out via Mickey mail about 3 weeks before the trip. The first was in 2007 and we surprised them by throwing them in the car at 2 am the day after Christmas and they woke up on Disneyland Drive!!! My oldest had just started reading and she commented on how there was a lot of Disney stuff around us. I had her read the street sign (we were "looking for some place to eat") and she very sweetly sounded out "Disneyland Drrrr". For WDW we are telling them we are flying to Austin for DHs conference and grandma and papa are tagging along because we have family there. Once we get to Texas we'll put them in "I'm going to Disney World" shirts before hopping onto our connecting flight to Orlando!

Adorable! I love it! :thumbsup2

I finding a ton of inspiration not only to keep the secret but how to reveal it.

What are your travel dates, and I will add you to the list?!?! :flower3:
I'm too lazy to figure it out based on your ticker :rotfl:

3 days until we leave and DD's 6 and 9 are CLUELESS!!!! --no thanx to me almost blowing it, ....repeatedly. Fortunately we have a big family trip to DLR in November, so when I did almost blow it they assumed that I was refering to Nov.

My 6 year old has been pining, seriously pining, for DL. She watches LM ride on youtube repeatedly. Then she told Grammie that she wishes Grammie could go do DL with us some day. And YES, Grammie is going on this trip!

Ya, I wanna burst!!!!

We pulled this off one other time when my big kids we're little. We told them we were going to the Pan Pacific. -Disney had just purchased this hotel (now the PPH). The shuttle driver from the airport had such a heavy accent that the kids did not understand him when he announced our destination.

I soooo can not wait to break the news to them. I figure that somewhere on the road they will have figured out that this is not a normal weekend jaunt to the City. But I'm gonna wait as long as I can.....

Too funny! :rotfl2:

That's how I feel when someone actually responds to my posts! Nothing worse than posting a new thread, and having a gazillion people view it, but nobody replies (much like my current PTR that nobody has replied to).
:lmao::banana::banana:

Traci

Where's your PTR????

And yeah it's like..I GOTTA chat about this SOMEWHERE hahaha

AWWWWWWWWW That is sooo exciting :)

We're trying hard to convince our Grandma she needs to come. I even showed her how cheap it'd be to drive it if we rent a mini van ;) Everyone keep :goodvibes for us so she'll agree LOL

Also, I totally think this should be a big long running thread. It'd be great to keep helping each other keep the secret and give ideas and show videos of those who did it. :D It's a COOL CLUB hehe

That's cute!! My 4 year old told me the other night she wants to go to Disneyland in 10 weeks. I was giggling inside since our WDW trip is in 11 weeks....she's so close!

We are leaving on June 23rd. My kids (5 and 10) have no clue about an airplane ride and DL, they think we are going to the mountains for the weekend. I can not wait to see the look on their faces when we tell them!!!

Can I join too?

We are definitely keeping THE secret for our next trip! DS has been to DLR 4x and DD has been 3x ......but this time it is going to be a surprise!!!:banana:

Right now, I am thinking we will do the old "gotta take Daddy to the airport for a business trip" and then tell (and video) them at Seatac!! I know that in ordered to pull off the surprise and not spill the beans I won't be able to talk about this with friends/neighbors and maybe not even family.

We are tentatively planning a fall/2012 or spring/2013 trip.

I (of course) am totally jealous of those of you going much sooner!!
