before you leave for work in the morning?

I can't stand to come home and go into the bedroom and see a messy bed. I don't put the bedspread on during the week, but the sheets and blankets have to be straighted out and folded back.

DH thinks I'm nuts (so what else is new?:p )

YES!

We have a routine of making the bed as soon as we get out of it! with both of us, it only takes about 10 seconds, and it looks nice all day!

We even make the bed on vacation! I hate to leave the villa at OKW messy when we leave for the parks!

Sometimes. During the summer my mom comes and takes care of my kids. One of them usually crawls into my bed before I leave (actually after their daddy leaves:p ). It's kinda hard to make up a bed when someone is in it messing it up.:p

I don't think you're nuts, Marilyn. Just tidier than I am.:)

Yes. I will not leave until beds are made. Kids must make theirs before they leave, too. I hate coming home to dishes in the sink or unmade beds.

LOL! Better off not making it Shannon. It would be pretty lumpy with a little critter still in it. ;)

I always straighten the sheets and put the blanket back on the bed. The quilt, however, is much too expensive for the kids to be jumping on. It's just folded and on top of the filing cabinet!

If for some odd reason I DON'T make my bed in the morning, I make it BEFORE I get in it that night!! I can't stand to get into an unmade bed! My DH also thinks this is nuts.

d.kurz

LOL I know I would do the same exact thing. I think that is why I do straighten it every morning, I don't want to get into a messy bed. :p

I never make my bed in the morning unless company is coming over, I do however make it at night before getting into it, because the sheets and blanket are usually all over the place so I have to make it so that we are both totally covered.
I know there are more like me out there!! Speak Up!!!

If I am off from work, the bed gets made. If I am working, DH is usually still in it when I leave for work, so it would be kind of lumpy even if I did make it;) ! DH doesn't make the bed. I believe it's against his religion.

I'm a SAHM during the week and I make the beds in the morning , my oldest DD makes her own and my youngest DD 5yr old, will start this year before she goes to school too , her's is easy to make, however if I have to go someplace early in the morning, I don't care if I leave the beds messy , nobody makes them for me while I'm gone so I know they will be in the same condition when I get back! Housework can wait!!

Only after I got married... now I HAVE to make the bed (comforter and all!), or it just doesn't feel right.

I usually straighten my bed up in the morning. I don't like wrinkled sheets. lol

Me!! :teeth:

I usually do it before as soon as I get out of it, before I leave my bedroom to brush my teeth!! :teeth: If I don't do it then, I definitely make it before I leave for school/work.

I actually go brush my teeth first thing, turn around and make up the bed. I could be sick as a dog, but I still have to make it up. The house can be a total mess, but the bed MUST be made! DH does not mind that. He does think I am nuts in the way I fold the sheets and comforter back "just so", I cannot stand to sleep under lumpy messed up "toppings"! If he just pulls them back , I actually partially remake it(to his horror)and fold them properly:smooth: !

Yes!!! As soon as we wake up, the bed is made. I can't stand to see it all messy. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I make the bed every day. I think a made bed can make the whole bedroom look so much neater. If I do not make it when I get up, I have to make it before I go back into the bedroom to do anything else. I get so mad at SO when he comes home from work and wants to lay down for awhile before dinner, because he always messes the covers up before bed. My routine is to straighten and tuck the top sheet. Put the comforter back on and then arrange the throw pillows.

I never make my bed. For me, there's no point in making it since I'm just gonna sleep in it later.

Always make the bed before leaving in the morning. Only exception is when DW is on vacation and is still in it. (No comment needed because all of the lumpy bed jokes have already been made). She makes it when she gets up. DD is supposed to make hers also, but sometimes I have to "remind" her.
That earlier post does give one pause, however. Think how much time we could save. Why cut the grass? It'll just grow again. Why vacuum the rugs? We'll just get them dirty again. Why wash the dishes? We'll just eat off of them again.
Yep, we could save a lot of time.
