Anyone else "invited" to take incredibly irritating survey?

Got an email to a feedback survey for DVC members. I thought, cool, they're actually asking members for their opinions. And my profession is process improvement/customer feedback; I'm prone to participate in opportunities to provide feedback. So I started the survey. Then my naivete bit me in the butt.

There was a series of iterative questions about Poly DVC - what was most influential/least influential reasons we were or were not considering buying into Poly. Included questions about Aluani, cost, accommodations - initially seemed like decent questions. Only there were a series of 11, yes 11, questions that kept reiterating most/least influential reasons we hadn't bought Poly. By the 8th question, there was no "most" reason for me to pick - none of them were pertinent to our decision making process. And when I tried to skip it, the survey would not allow that.

So I abandoned it. Maybe I missed an opportunity. But 11 repetitive questions about the same thing? I'm thinking the survey department might be even more incompetent than the IT department. . .

It sounds like they were trying to get you to rank order the reasons, and maybe even test for consistency. I'm with you. I would have canceled and moved ahead with life.

Yeah, that's exactly what they were going for. Which I can understand. But not 11 times! It's like it was designed by an intern or something.:crazy2:

I heard about this survey being sent out yesterday. I have not seen it in my email box yet…...

was one of the answers "I'm too poor to buy more points"? I can be consistent on that reply.

I got it too. Was very annoying. I chose lack of room sizes every time I saw it.

I also got it.

I think it kept asking the same questions in different ways to check for consistency.

Yes I want more DVC points. No I don't want Aulani or Poly. I don't think it knew what to do with me.

Wonder what the point of that survey was....

I took that survey-- I thought it was brilliant how after each choice the options were adjusted to get a clear calibration on where each answer ranks in importance. I was happy to take it because it gave (or gives) us a chance to let them know what is important to us. I didn't say the cost was too high because I want them to build bigger and better things for my family to enjoy on our previously purchased points. Said the bungalows are too high in points, and the poly needs other room categories, predominantly. also said I want to buy more points on the monorail loop but not at the poly. Please build another.

Sounds like DVD is realizing that PVB may have some issues.

I'm sure $165/pp isn't helping either.

THIS!

They have priced the value out of their own market.

I wish everybody would stop buying so the prices would get at least somewhat back in line but as long as they finance anybody and there are visitors to which $25k means nothing anyway, it's not going to happen.

Glad we bought when we did. I couldn't justify it at today's pricing structure.

You got that one too :). It was a "WHY aren't you buying into the Poly" survey :). "aHEHEHEHe.... WHY?" (Insert Jay Leno whine voice) :).
The overpriced offering isn't moving. They DEMAND to know why :).

In my trade we call them fish surveys -- the paper they're printed on is only suitable for wrapping fish.

When I took the survey a few days ago, I felt they're trying to figure out how to make the two active resorts more appealing.

Just my opinion, I think it had to be a price thing. Lower the point cost or amount of points needed. Maybe people are waking up to the fact that Disney is making a fortune off of the Poly...they mostly did a makeover of existing rooms.

I've said this before on this board. People are paying $165 a point for 30-year-old buildings that were extensively renovated and over the water bungalows many will never be able to reserve. Yes, there is a new entrance sign, reimagined pool area, reconfigured lobby and grounds, but these are resort benefits, not DVC exclusives.

Furniture aside, BLT was the best monorail beam offering because it came with a dedicated DVC pool, pool bar, lounge and recreation areas.
