anyone else hopelessly hooked on this discussion board?

Ipursell, what exactly is the cruise credit for first time cruisers? Is this for first time cruisers with Disney? We booked through Costco so I'm wondering if we're eligible.

We're on the Eastern 7 day leaving Jan 25th. Thanks in advance for any help!

Deb

Hi debbiebones,

We are also on the Jan 25th cruise. The cast is DH, DS 5 and myself. We did a land and sea package last year and booked this cruise before we even got off the boat. I am totally addicted to the boards, the port web cam and the two palms web cam as well.

BTW, I used to work at an office in Bloomfield Hills over by Square Lake Rd. Right next to the Moose Lodge. Is that place still there???

You mean the Moose Preserves? That's right up the street from us...we live near Square Lake and Telegraph!!! Wow...as they say in Disney World....It's a small world!

Glad you'll be joining us on the cruise! I'm not sure if I can wait another 5 months! I think I can survive as long as I keep reading these posts.

Take care!

Deb

Not only am I "obsessed" BUT my 10 yr old DD is also obsessed. As the saying goes, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" LOL

It's funny to hear her say, "Mom did you read the post about..." or Mom, you got an e mail response from the DIS boards. LOL

It is 8 am on a Saturday morning. I am in my nightgown. I am reading these boards and posting. My cruise was in June, and the next one is only a twinkle in my eye. I'm not addicted at all!! LOL

I'm not addicted, it has just become part of my daily routine:D

Coffee in the morning and reading the boards! I just love it here also.

My name is Maycruiser, and yes, I have a problem!

Hey, I can think of other things that are a lot worse than being addicted to this board.

It is official. I am ADDICTED! This board is the greatest. I have learned so much useful information. It also helps so that DW doesn't have to listen to my endless chattering about our cruises that are still 6 months away. The people on this board are some of the sweetest and most generous I have come across. I shared Tinkerbells Magic story with my office staff this morning and had everyone in tears. Of course now I have to buy them all lunch because I made them cry. LOL.

Barb,

I look forward to hearing about your threepeat. DW and I are doing an Eastern/Western back to back in February and are eagerly awaiting your trip report on how your trip goes. We have gotten different stories as to whether or not we will have to disembark or not between sailings.

My DH kidded me alot about being addicted prior to our WDW vacation...but when we got back all he could talk about was how smooth everything went. And all of the fun stuff we got to do that we wouldn't have known anything about had I not been "lurking" daily!

So now I'm planning the cruise and still spending lots of time "lurking". My DS's just tell "Mom can't you get off the DIS so I can play my computer games now."

Hooked? Well - lets see.

1. I have the site bookmarked on every computer I use and add it to every computer I see so that I can check to see what new information is posted. The sales folks at the computer store were not amused.

2. I check the boards before I go to work, during work and after work.

3. I've used the boards as an effective communication example at work.

4. I suffer Disboard Abandonment Syndrome when I can't get into the board.

5. I thought about starting a withdrawal program for Disboard addicts but then that might include not reading the boards and since I really don't have a problem, I'm not ready for that step.

So I guess I'd have to say that I'm "not" hooked at all. :teeth:

LOL! I feel the same way! :p

Hokie5cruiser, ROFLOL!! You sound exactly like me. It's DH's fault -- he got his 'planner' wife hooked! He asked me what I'm going to do after the cruise, and my reply was, "Plan the next one!!!"

Exactly 21 days until we set sail on the 7-day eastern! Time is flying!

The only reason I haven't posted sooner is that I thought it would be good to take a little break and do something today with DH instead of my usually checking the boards three, four, five... times. I agree though that I have gotten a lot of useful information and money saving tips. Getting the AMEX credit (thanks to all of you) and I have my packing list prepared (already packed one suitcase!). Ok, now that sounds really obsessed!!

Addicted? Yes!! I think my family is planning an intervention!

This board is so much fun, I am really looking forward to our cruise in April and it's nice to read all of the posts from people who are as excited as I am!!

obsessed.....good word...
we cruised this past july 4th and yet here i am...
still reliving the experience on the board.....
yes it's true we're planning another one....but not until 2005.....
but wild horses couldn't drag me away from here...

Addicted? Yes, I admit it. Went on our first DCL 3-day Nov 01 and didn't know about these DIS boards. Managed to have a great time in spite of our lack of knowledge. Going on the 7 day Magic Western this Thanksgiving and am so much better prepared. Won't take nearly so many clothes. Will take the over the door organizer and own hair dryer this time along with a power strip for the desk! Thanks so much everyone for all the great tips!

Now I like the approach kimtenn took in her post. DH thought he was so smart when he "discovered" these boards. He was very proud when he "first" showed them to me. I then proceeded to show him the bookmark through my work desktop link from the previous version of the boards! When that went down I didn't start back up because I spent so much time on them!

I think there are times he wishes he hadn't re-introduced me to them.

But they are fun and we keep picking up new ideas!

Deb

I drive east over Bennett Causeway (528/Beeline) toward Merritt Island around 3 pm. On Saturday, Sunday or Thursday I see the Magic or Wonder standing out against the skyline. (And boy, do they stand out!) I'll also frequently see a DCL bus east bound and have to voice my "take me with you" pleas.

As a safety precaution, I won't go out and watch them sail out of port... I might just jump the jetty and swim after them! So, to channel my obsessive energy, I lock myself up to my computer and hover over the DIS.

Oops! Gotta go, going to be late for work! (working two jobs to put my 7 day, category 6 dreams into reality!)

No, I'm not obsessed.... But I do feel like the ships are taunting me everytime I see them!
