Anyone else here *not* surprised Charlie Sheen is in the hospital

Have you never seen his career defining performance in Scary Movie 3? It was like we were not even watching an actor, he so completely enveloped himself in that role. Quite simply, I consider him to be a national treasure, a true gift from Hollywood - porn stars, cocaine filled briefcases, and all.

I didn't think I could hold this man in any higher regard, but I truly have a new found respect for him after reading this latest update from TMZ...

Sources who were present at Charlie's house during his 36-hour party tell us ... after a man delivered a briefcase full of cocaine to the house early Wednesday morning, Charlie pulled out a small green pipe and started smoking cocaine continuously ... for hours.

There are many wild details, but we're told eventually Charlie ended up in his theater room with one of the porn stars with whom he was partying. They watched 3 hours of porn, as Charlie critiqued the action on the screen.

We're told Charlie, who fancies himself as a porn connoisseur, was questioning his companion about angles and body shots. We're told the porn star was "surprised" by the depth of Charlie's knowledge.

The man just gives and gives. Free acting advice to up and coming thespians. Wow! Seminars such as this typically cost aspiring actors hundreds of dollars. I hope these porn stars took notes and appreciate his input... yes input.

I'd just like to add that I hope Jon Cryer feels really small right now. He should really take a page from Charlie and learn to be more giving. What's wrong Jon - are you too important to critique up and coming actors' performances? And why aren't you doing anything about the drug problem in Hollywood? Charlie is getting cocaine off the streets brief cases at a time. I'm sorry Jon, but I am highly disappointed in your seemingly lack of interest in using your celebrity status to make a difference, such as Charlie is. Charlie worked himself so hard, so very hard, that he is now in the hospital. What have you done to make a difference?

While I am enjoying all the frivolity on this thread, I have to admit I have always liked him as an actor. I think he is quite talented. I think it is sad that his personal life is so messed up and he has made such terrible choices and decisions. I am sure this breaks the hearts of his family.

A hiatal hernia can be excrutiatingly painful. I do not blame Charlie for going to the ER. When I had one, I called my doctor immediately and they took me right in,otherwise I would've gone to the ER as well.

I hope he's ok but sheesh, what a mess. I don't for a second believe that his problem is really a hernia but that's his business anyway.

One thing I don't get though. I watch 2 1/2 Men for the one-liners and every time they show him with a woman all I can think about is how awkward he looks, his kisses look awful. I mean with all the practice shouldn't he LOOK like he knows what he's doing Most tomcats can bring it to the screen, Russel Crow comes to mind. I don't get it... my pancakes have more sizzle.
