Last night at exactly 12:55am on my clock, VMK shut down on me. Said it closed. Now, I know it didn't close. That's 5 minutes early! I figured my internet was on the fritz, whatever.

Well tonight it happened again at the exact same time! 12:55am on the dot, "VMK is closed. You have lost your connection." Why am I closing down 5 minutes before everyone else? I can't even enjoy a closing party it seems.

If anyone knows what might be causing this, please share! It's driving me crazy.

Could be your computer. Computer lost or grain a few seconds over time and it adds up. I lost 2-3 minutes a month so I have to update my computer time when I download updates to my virus programs.

How in the world do you do that? Right now my clock matches real time. It says it's 1:12am and it's really 1:12am.

Would my clock setting on the computer really affect VMK closing on me though? I got the black screen, pop up and everything. Just poof! Everyone else was still online.

Is it also off when the 10 minute warning pops up? When you say everyone else are you talking about other people playing at your house? If your screen goes black how do you know if others are still online?

You can try this. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel. Open Date and Time, choose the Internet Time tab and click update now and see if your time changes. You need to be connected to the internet when you do this.

HopelessMagic is usually in a room with us when she disappears 5 minutes before closing. We all stay online for another 5 minutes and she disconnects

See? I'm not crazy LOL. I'll try that thing with the internet and the clock and see how it goes tonight. I do get the 10 minute warning when everyone else does though so I have a hunch that my clock is not the problem. Anything is worth trying though.

If it does it again tonight, I'm going to write to VMK and see what else I can do. Maybe they can fix something from their end.

No idea what is happening but I wanted to point out the time stamp on this message. If I understand the details right, she got booted from VMK then posted this message. If that's the case, she was booted before the rest of us.

Whenever there's less than 10 minutes left until closing, you can't log on. That happens to me all the time because I get home at a half hour until closing, and sometimes if it takes a long time to load VMK and it ends up being 12:50 or later before I'm fully logged on, I'll get that message.

I wish. I did that internet time synchronized thing. My clock only changed by one minute so we shall see. I decided instead of waiting around to watch it happen again, I'm going to write to Contact Us today. Maybe it's something simple. I mean, the staff can be there after hours and they can obviously stop people from going online. Maybe they can type the disconnect time in or something. Anything has to be better than doing nothing.

Like Grumpy said, I'm already logged in for a good long time before this happens. I'll be hanging out with them and then 'poof'. I know what you mean about not being able to log back in after the 10 minute warning goes. I've tried getting back online after it happens and I can't.
