anyone else having problems w/Direct TV today

anyone else having problems with Direct TV today? It was fine last night, now this mornng it's not working right. I had to unplug the receiver a couple times and also tried to reset the receiver through the website and nothing. I tried calling and only get a busy signal! Anyone else??

Yep! I just thought it was my reciever! I also had to unplug it a few times. Then we unpluged it and took out the card. We put it back in when it asked for it and now it seems to be ok. (Although I did have to leave for work )

Heh, my brother just called for the phone number to DTV (his computer's in the shop so he asked me to look it up) because they're having problems. He's going nuts because he's out on Worker's Comp, and can't DO anything but sit and watch TV. He said something about thinking that the remotes needed to be re-set, or something...

me too! i had to unplug it this morning but the remote isn't working. i can't watch my real housewives of nj which is on dvr.

we're back up now....had to reset the box again and wait for the signal to load. Weird...our upstairs tv was fine although that one is not HD so maybe it's only with the HD boxes??
Darsa...DD is home sick and was going crazy also without the tv!

I just checked ours and it is fine. But I'm on the West coast. We also don't have HD.

I'm on the West Coast with HD and mine is acting funny. We have a non-HD receiver and it's fine though.
Took me two tries to restart it, but it's working now.

Thought I read a couple weeks ago that a satelite might cause some issues in June. There is a satelite being decommissioned and not responding correctly?

Me too! I had to reset it, then unplug it and wait 30 seconds, and now it is working fine.

ok..so i'm not going crazy. I couldnt figure out why the stupid receiver wouldn't work. It was stuck on cartoons all morning

I unplugged mine a few times and it finally started working again.

We have DirecTV and get all our local channels...I think it maybe depends on what's been negotiated in each jurisdiction ?

I was going to post the same thing! I got nervous that if I needed a new receiver & I would lose my NJ Housewives from last night!

I thought the kids - 15 and 13 - were going to lose their minds this morning, when they couldn't put DirecTv on a music channel. You would have thought the end was near with all the bemoaning coming from the 2 of them. Had to reboot 3 times before the HD receiver started working.

And for Clarabelle - yes, we get our local channels here.

I ended up unplugging the receiver twice and letting it do its thing each time to update whatever it needed to; it's been working fine since. I thought I was going crazy when first the remote didn't seem to work; then after I got it to work once, it'd let me type in the channel I wanted but wouldn't go to it and wouldn't get the header bar thingie off of the screen. It was like it just froze or something.

Oh my gosh - ours wasn't working either! I couldn't get it to turn on this morning and then I needed to reboot it a few times. My 2 year old was very upset there was no Mickey Mouse "Cub-ouse"

RE: local channels, we get them both here in Orlando and at our house in Denver.

Our 2 non HD receivers were working fine, but our HD one wouldnt work. I re-set it 3 times and its working now.

I even chatted with the agent online and he verified that they do not have local channels in our new area. So if I go with Direct TV then I need to get rabbit ears to get ABC, NBC and CBS??

Our choices are very limited where we are going (no big name cable companies like Verizon, Comcast or even TimeWarner service the area). I loved the lineup of DirecTV because they have all of our favorite channels including Sprout for DS3.

Yea same happened to us. Happens every time they do an upgrade to the receiver. Usually only have to reset once, but took a couple of times and then even some cable unplugging. lol
