Anyone else having issues reserving magic bands?

The kids have been wanting to reserve their magic bands for the trip, and we got a message that we are unable to reserve magic bands while the parks are closed.... even though our trip isn't until September. Is that what's happening for everyone? I don't understand why I can make park and resort reservations, but I can't do something as simple as picking my magic band color.

FYI, since ordering Magic Bands has more to with resorts than the theme parks, I moved your thread to the Disney Resorts board.

To answer your question, Disney has suspended MB ordering/customizing during the closure. Although similar to the next poster I was able to customize MBs for a summer trip yesterday (not sure if a fluke or what).

Here’s the current language from the closure update page on their website, FWIW.


MagicBands
If you have placed an order and received notification that your MagicBands have already been shipped to your home, you will still receive your order.

If you have arranged for your upgraded MagicBands to be delivered to you at your Disney Resort hotel for an arrival date from March 20 through the closure period, your order will be automatically cancelled and you will receive a refund of the amount you paid for the MagicBands.

While the Walt Disney World theme parks and Resort hotels are temporarily closed, we are not currently accepting new MagicBand orders linked to Walt Disney World Annual Passholders or Disney Resort hotel reservations.

I had seen this notice a while ago, but as of today, I can choose free MB for my June 12 check in at BCV. (The premium bands aren't available as a choice, but the complimentary color choices are showing up as options). This was not available last week, but is available for me to choose today.

I got the same note about not being able to order until WDW reopens. But heck, I’m holding out for the post-corona bands—instead of playing music at the tapstyles, they’ll give a little spritz of Lysol

Wow. I'd have thought otherwise since they are not taking reservation now for trips before a July 1st. I hope they do allow June guests to keep their reservations but getting up to speed, stocked and hired is going to take a bit.

We have a Nov trip coming up and so far have not yet been able to order Magic Bands. When I asked about it in chat, she gave me the reply about not being able to order them while Disney is closed. To those who were able to order, glad to hear it! I guess we will be waiting awhile longer.

I was able to order my family magic bands on the computer for the first half of stay a few days ago. It wouldn't work through the phone. We can't order the bands for the other half. We have a split stay and even on the computer it shows to select for the second half but can't open that one.

For what it's worth, as of this morning Complimentary bands are showing as available for our September trip (but no Premium selection). Tiny glimmer of optimism??
