Anyone else having issue with DISboards webpage?(unwanted popup ads)

I experience this on several platforms - my iPhone 6 on Safari (don't use the app), my home PC on Chrome and work PC on Chrome/Firefox. I have malware, antivirus and web protection on both PCs. I also get something that tries to download a fake Flash update on the two PCs, and I get redirected to the App Store repeatedly on my phone.

Very annoying and concerning.

I'm noticing there are multiple threads about this on different areas of the board so it is definitely a problem.

I did a little basic research based on the website that it sends us to - it looks like many other message boards are having the exact same problem, and that it is a known issue with Google Ads. Apparently there is something in Google Ads of a certain format that is causing this redirect. I don't want to say "infected", because it isn't infecting our computers as far as we know.

Thanks for the extra research.

Do you think there is something we can do from our end, or is this something that has to be addressed at a different level?

Don't want to sound niave, but since it's GoggleAds, does it have something to do with Chrome, or is that not connected?

Should have nothing to do with Chrome, since we are all experiencing it on other browsers as well as Macs. It is related to those ads at the top and bottom of each page that change depending on keywords being discussed and on your recent searches. Until the webmaster/webhost/Google Ad Services figures this out, I think the only thing we can all do is install a great Ad Blocker on our own computers or :sad1: stay away from message boards.

Happening to me too on Google Chrome browser. I do use popup blocker so it's like instead of it blocking the ads, it's just complete opening a page for the ads.

It's not happening in IE for me.

I have a call into Google. It's nothing that we're doing on our side and it's not malware. It's a bad Google ad with a redirect script in it. I am working with them to track it down and disable it.

Glad to hear its not malware. Thanks for looking into this Corey. :thumbsup2

Corey - here's another one for you....I clicked on a thread on the Community Board just now and a tab opened up and an installation.exe file started to download. Luckily my system denied it. Here is the website that opened....please don't click on it, just in case......

It was on Chrome, which I use all day, every day. This has not happened on any other site.

I thought my computer was somehow infected earlier and I had logged on to my bank so I changed my password and did a scan of my computer to be safe. Nothing was found and as the day went on I realized it is only happening when I am on here. So weird and it is happening a lot.

Wow - now that is scary!!! Note - I broke up the URL in the quoted text so people won't accidentally go to that site.

This happened to me last night. The virus did get on my PC. My teen was able to remove it and set up an ad blocker.

I can't even get onto disboards from google chrome anymore. It instantly pops up the ads, but when I use IE it seems to be better and less frequent.

This has been happening on various sites using Google (the redirect ad, not the virus). Apparently someone is using their ad network to inject redirects, and they are still working on the code to fix it. Apparently they haven't found who was doing this either.

It can get really annoying as you try to hit back to read the thread, and it just redirects you again because it's cached. If you can, go back to the thread page and then click the reload button. Hopefully you'll get a different ad set.

This redirect injection COULD be used to direct you to malware-bearing sites as well...google better get this fixed quick.

Corey, it might be worth blocking "adwynne .com" from your AdSense service. That's at least one that is apparently doing it, per this thread.

I'm finding some pages unreadable because of this...

I have been having this issue for a couple of weeks. I am on an Android Nexus 5 phone. My work around has been in the settings checking request desktop site. Once that is done I am able to stay in the thread. From my laptop IE or Chrome I have no issues. Just on the cell

On a computer you can install ad blockers/antivirus/etc... What about on a phone, though? Is there anything? I use the iPhone app and get redirected to the App Store a lot... Very frustrating, but mainly I don't want any sort of malicious software ending up on my phone...

I am finding the board unreadable on Chrome with this but fine on IE. Adywynne.com runs on the web servers adsense accounts, right? It is nothing that disboard users can block from what I understand.

I've run virus scans and I'm picking up nothing, plus I tried the uninstall of "Premium Installer" but that not on my list of software to install.

Update: The redirect just happened for me for the first time in IE.

Just wondering if folks are still having this issue today (Saturday, 1/10).
