Anyone else have to "swap" closets?

A sure sign of fall for us is the official "swapping of the closets". The spring/summer clothes went into the upstairs closets, and the fall/winter closets came out. I'm not looking forward to winter at all, but I am looking forward to wearing cute boots again! ;)

We have to do that where I live...but not yet. The heat is still here.

Yesterday was 95 degrees.

Same here. It's still hot, but I will be switching out the clothes soon. We have NO closet space!

I pretty much wear the same stuff all year long. I have a couple of sweaters that I break out in the winter but everything else is always in the closet. It's quite chilly in my office so I often wear pants and long sleeves to work even in the summer.

i only have to swap out the "quick access" rubbermade tote in the hall closet (next to the front door)-in the nicer weather it holds the box with the sun visors, baseball caps and such. the winter box holds scarves, gloves, knit caps and the snow pants.

our closets are pretty good sized, at most i will push the summer stuff to the back and rotate the long sleeved to the front (though with the way ds is growing i've learned to do it a good month or so before it's needed so i can restock what he's outgrown).

Yes, we have to do this too. We have a small house with small closets, and a lot of clothes. I hate this ordeal--it takes a whole weekend. But I really like clothes.

Can't wait to break out the knee boots!!

It's not unheard of to have days in the summertime here that require a sweater! So I keep my clothes year-round.

I much prefer fall clothes, so I love that I can break out all my cute sweaters again!

I have a lrg walk-in closet but I still do this. Living in NJ we ALWAYS did it and it just means change of seasons to me! I'll do it until I cant carry stuff up and down the stairs or live near Mickey and don't need to!

With the weather still so warm here, it may be awhile before I switch. We also have a small house and small closets. I use to keep them hanging in the attic, but now I just have to move them from the hall closet to the bedroom.

I wish I could switch. Stupid 90+ degree weather in Md. I want to get the fall decorations, and candles, and clothes out, but still seems like summer:headache:

Yep! I was thinking of doing it today but I didn't get around to it. Maybe tomorrow.

naw - I just pack away the crop-length pants. Everything else is pretty much year-round. But, we wear more sweaters in the Winter.

(it's 100+ here today, so Fall still seems a long way off!)

Nope. Just one closet, one set of clothes. I have 1 heavy coat, 1 light coat, 1 windbreaker in there that come out as the winter weather arrives.

Of course, it was 101 today, so I'm still waiting for the time when it's cool enough to turn off the A/C.

Yup, no swapping of closets for moi! Living in SoCal is easy living! :cool1:

I have a large walk in closest and I move things around in the closest but don't have to "swap" any more. I move the summer shirts/shorts to the top shelves and bring the winter turtlenecks/jeans to the lower shelves. My hanging clothing stays in the same spots though. After swapping out clothes for most of my life, this is REALLY nice. :thumbsup2 DH doesn't move his clothes around (we have 2 walk-in's in our bedroom) because he can reach the top shelves. The kids don't need to move their clothes around at all either-although we still sort through theirs to take out things that don't fit any longer.

Nope, closet is big enough to hold all of our clothes. My casual clothes are different but my office attire doesn't change too much anyway. I have to wear layers at work year round as its either hot or cold--NEVER just right.

I am looking forward to boots again though--that is something I don't wear year round. So those will be brought to the front of the closet probably next month.
