Anyone else have that "cough thing" that's going around?

I've had kids coming into my class with a horrible croupy sounding cough . Of course now I have it too. Anyone else have their first cold of the season?

I can't believe I had this cough too that is just uncontrolable. Must be tough on the little kiddies, all those germ floating around the room.

Yes, my dd5, who's in kindegarten, and dd4, who is in preschool, have it. It's driving me nuts, too, because both of them refuse to take any cough syrup for it.

Me, I just wake up with a sore throat every morning. I just love winter.

Both my sons (8 and 4) have this same nasty cough. One of the kids in my eldest's class came to school sick and now half the class sounds like this!

I've had a cough for almost 2 months now and is finally getting better. DS14 has had a bad cough for almost 3 weeks. This is NOT a cold, there's no runny nose or congestion involved, unless it's possible to have a "cold" with only coughing as a symptom??

DS14 has asthma, and I almost had to call the ambulance last night because he was coughing so hard that he started choking and couldn't catch his breath. We had him using his nebulizer in less than 20 seconds then finally he was OK.

Is this a virus or something going around???

When my kids start like that , that means bronchitis is next, they get caughing spells in the morning and at night. My oldest is borderline ashmatic and she has been receiving the flu shot since she was 3 yrs old, believe it or not it makes a world of a difference for her, the little one started getting it too at the same age because she's very prone to bronchitis and since bronchitis ans ashma is something that runs in both sides of the family , the doctor decided to start giving it to her as prevention. It works wonders for them.

My two younger sons both have a cold right now so I'm sure a virus with my name on it is waiting right around the corner!!!

4 yo DS brought it home to us. We each have a different version. Mine includes a bit of laryngitis, always fun when you have kids! I hate winter....


If you live where it's warm all year, do you still get those nasty winter colds????

DD and I both have it. We don't have a runny nose, fever, or any other symptoms. All we have is this darned cough!

My ds and I've had it for about 2-3 weeks now. It's very annoying. I thought his went away. He didn't cough for 2 days-Saturday and Sunday. Then he came home from school on Monday and had it again.

DD 7, has it and stayed home from school today. She has no fever or any other symptoms but that cough is really bad. She is bouncing off the walls. I should have given her some cough syrup and sent her on her way.....

They say it is a virus!!! I am at the tail end of it (I hope). I did have to use an inhaler (Flovent) for 2 weeks because I was wheezing something aweful!!!

I have used Delsym to help control the cough!!

Here too. I had the normal kind of cold three weeks ago, and now this gross chest congestion/cough thing. Not fair!

Still, I fit a disney trip in between the sicknesses and I can't help feeling just slightly giggly that I stayed perfectly healthy for that little stretch of time.

The cough seems to hang on forever! I am finally over it. Since school has started I have had that cough thing, a cold with a fever that made me so tired, and the sore throat fever thing. Yikes!
I normally work with third graders. This is the first year I am in kindergarten too and I have been sicker since September than I have been in the past.
