Anyone else have problems using a Travel Agent??

Maybe I'm a bit too picky....but....

I've contact 2 very "disney" oriented travel agents. Figured I could use some help w/ PS etc. Since I've found these boards I've done it on my own. This time decided to get some help..here are my experience w/ TA#1 & TA#2

TA#1...I made my first request to Poly and BWI and decided that the prices were just too high and since this spur of the moment trip in June is an "extra" I have to cut cost so I asked for a quote on standard AKL & WL. I recieved the quote for WL & got everything but the standard AKL quote. I called disney myself and held a room for $553/4 nites...(this has been going on since Thursday..it is now Monday!!) I emailed TA #1 and asked it there is a quote for AKL standard & she just re-emailed me the original which did not include AKL standard with a line "didn't you get this."

Onto TA#2...Emailed her Saturday since TA#1 wasn't getting me the info I wanted and I can be a bit impatient. Just got back to me today and quoted me $620.00 AKL standard...I emailed her back that I was quoted $553 & if she could explain the difference...she emailed back stating "no that couldn't be right." Called disney to reconfirm...It is $553 (tax included!) Emailed TA#2 back....no response.

This is the second time I've attempted to use a TA. TA#1 is actually handling our August plans thus far & now I'm really nervous...has anyone else had experiences like this!!!?? Very frustrating!!

I have not had this problem with the TA I am using...she is WONDERFUL. Does TA #2 know that you are an AP? The rate of 553 is based on an AP code (138.26 a night including tax for a standard)....maybe she isn't using the AP code but rather the public code? OR maybe you have the last standard at AP rate and she is getting a quote based on the Public code because there are no more rooms at the AP rate??

I used a TA and had to cancell after I got a Better rate on my own

I have never used a TA, sounds like you know what your want and how to get it, more so then either agent you have called. My question is why are you using a TA?

Hope you have a great trip and if you stay with a TA that they are more responsive.

No...I included I had an AP & she stated on her quote that it was w/ an AP rate. When I called to confirm the rate I was explaining to the CM what was happening and she said there was still availability for the AP rate for all views at AKL for my dates. I don't know but I just don't get it. And tomorrow I have to start the stress of calling for Cindys! By myself w/ no help as I wanted so I feel like just telling them to forget it...of course I haven't heard back from either!!!!!

is all I can say...I was grasping with the AP thing...thought that might be it, but I dont' know!!!!!!!!!! I have always done it on my own, and this time I put it over to a TA and then still called to verify, but she has been awesome for me. I'm sorry you having this experience.......
