My kids (10 and 7) watch the Military Channel almost non-stop. They now know more about WWII military hardware (tanks, guns etc) than I will ever know.

We watch it a lot as we are military history buffs and my DS as soon as he got home from Iraq last tour was sitting here watching it all the time he thought it was great.

There's a Military Channel?

LOL We have 98 channels and I've never heard of it!

DS22 loves the military channel. I think the only two channels he watches are that and the history channel.

Every once in a while, I'll realize he's left and I'm still watching the show he turned on.

Ever since my daughter joined the Navy, we watch the Military Channel. They had a cool show on last night about SEAL training.

My DS (11) knows more about WW II than anyone I know. He watches the History and Military channel constantly.

Last summer a B17 came to our town, and DH and I paid for him to ride on it. He floated on clouds for weeks after.

As soon as DD (5) gets a little older, we're going to make the long haul to Hawaii. He is dying to see Pearl Harbor.

DSS17 watches all the time. His favourite show is Tank Overhaul. I like Weapon Masters.

My youngest son loves that channel. He has been watching it for many years, since it first came to cable.
He joined the Marines last September after seeing the show about bootcamp. I hate that channel.

DH and DS14 watch it A LOT. DH is a huge history freak and DS is following in his footsteps. It's really bad, now that they both can identify and tell you what plane, tank, or gun they are showing, before the commetators do. And it is identified by Country of origin, make, and caliber of rounds it uses or type/size/number of rounds it will shoot or carry.

Heck they can even identify the battles just from the little snippits being shown.

I didn't even know there was a military channel!! I wouldn't let my youngest watch it at all, and I don't know if my older ones would be interested in strictly military history. However, they LOVE the History Channel and anything similar (Discovery, etc.). Addicted would be a fair statement for the two oldest! And mom likes it, too.:rotfl:

Sounds pretty boring to me :rotfl: but those kids will probably ACE their history classes when they get older.

My wife calls me her "third kid". :rotfl2:

I watch it frequently.

Then again, I have a degree in History. I also am a WWII Living Historian.

If I may ask Why?

Watching it has lead to many good discussions about WWII, the Nazis and Hitler, the Holocaust, Nuclear Bombs, the Evils of War.

My husband watches the military channel quite a bit.

Sometimes when he's watching a program on there, I start watching too. There are some shows that are really quite interesting.
