Anyone else hate Kohls?

A few years ago I canceled my Kohls acct because the customer svc seemed to stink and I had sent a payment which they posted to my account 2 weeks later and charged me a fee. Well, I had not shopped there for years and decided to give it another try prior to Christmas and just had the same thing happen. Check sent 12/18, posted almost 2 weeks later after they charged me fees. I called. They said they didn't receive it. I won't be shopping there again, and canceled the card. Anyone else have this happen with Kohls? I have never had this with any other credit card or bill.

I don't like to shop there at all. I liked Mervyns much better, but they're gone now. :( It's not related to their CC, though. I just don't like it.

so sorry you had the prob. This is exactly why (esp during the holiday) I pay my bills in store or on line so I don't have to worry aobut it not making it there. I have a student loan I have to mail and hate it b/c I have had trouble w/ it not making it there on time due to the post office.

I agree. While Kohl's does have good deals, there's something about the place that I just don't like. I personally have never had their CC, but that same thing did happen to one of my friends. She eventually got it straightened out though. Sorry to hear this happened to you.

I pay my Kohl's bill online through my banks website and haven't had a problem. But then I only shop at kohl's about 4x a year or so.

I do like their prices, when they have a good sale and I get a 30% coupon code plus free shiping, I do quite well and don't have to leave my house. When I do shop in the store the customer service is okay. Not fantastic but not bad either.

Sorry for your luck, in your case I'd refuse to shop their too!

I don't hate Kohls, but I am not too happy with them. I ordered 2 ceramic Holy Family statues online(an awesome after Christmas deal) and when I received them on my doorstep, the box rattled when I picked it up, and you can guess that both items were broken. They packed them horribly, they just wrapped each 1 with a single layer of bubble wrap and threw them into the box, which was much too big for the items. I called the customer service number and they told me they would resend them, and the cs told me that she would be sure and indicate that the items were fragile.Shouldn't they be aware of that already?:sad2: Well, I'm taking bets as to whether the new ones will be broken also. What do you think?:confused3

I'm very disappointed at Kohls lately...I ordered things for Christmas presents on Dec. 16 and was 'guaranteed' delivery by Dec. 22...well Dec. 22 came and went, Christmas came and went and FINALLY after *****ing out everyone on their Customer Service team, I get a box of my stuff on Jan. 12...OMG, I was furious.
And to beat it all, these were nice gifts, like ladies coats and things like that...they were all just thrown in the box, YES thrown in the box without a bag around them or anything...except, a cheap flannel housecoat I bought and wouldn't you know, they thought that was delicate and put it on a hanger and put a coat bag on it, but a coat that cost 3x's as much they just thought it'd be fine wadded up in a cardboard box! :sad2:
So then it gets worse...they decide to give me a return credit on Jan. 15...yep, I'd signed for the box but for some reason they see that I didn't get it.
So as much as I hated to, I did the right thing and emailed the returns dept and told them that I finally had gotten the stuff a month late and that I was still disappointed and was going to cancel my card unless they gave me some discount or giftcard to make up for all the hassle I went thru...they are thinking about it now according to the email I got this morning.
What a crock! :crazy2:

their online customer service and delivery (if you get a delivery) are terrible. They advertised items on the website and you think you are getting a good deal and then weeks later they tell you it is out of stock. BUT if you go to the website they continue to sell out of stock items weeks on end.

I don't mind the brick/mortor Kohls but I NEVER order online anymore.

I just got my statement today and they decided to change my due date by 2 days. Of course they charged me a $29 late fee. Needless to say I called and demanded it be taken off as I have never been late which they did. I will be paying off my balance this month and won't shop there again.

I pay online at Kohls.com and have never had a problem. I do not shop there as much as I use to since they changed the 30-60-90 day credit plan.

typically i like kohls because you can get some ridiculous deals.

often i find bedding and things like that for 50% off.

i haven't been shopping there as much lately since i've been able to find stuff even cheaper online.

i don't have their credit card, so i don't know about that.

I like Kohls. I have had their CC and pay it online, never a problem. Customer service is ok. The only thing I sometimes do not like is all the clearance, it is all jumbled together. I no longer have patience to pick thru one hundred racks of stuff.

I love NOT going to the mall for things, Kohls is more local for me too. Sales are great. But I am the type who HATES higher end stores like Macys, Lord and Taylor, etc.

Retail is struggling so much these days. They have to cut back on hours all over and there is no where left to cut, so service suffers.

I love Kohl's, but not the website. They are notorious for accepting orders and not coming through. Can't fill them or not shipping promptly. I never order online. I do shop at the store though. They have quality stuff for great prices and they have great customer service in the stores. If you do buy something you're not happy with, they'll take it back no questions asked. As far as the credit card, I do have one for the coupons they frequently send out. When I use the coupons, I sometimes immediately pay that much on the credit card right there after my purchase so I don't have the interest. Whatever I might have as a balance gets paid online, so I haven't had any checks take time to post.

Add me to the list. I returned more than my bill due and they charged me a late fee for not making a payment. I have a $2.xx credit balance; why should I pay a bill? Of course I did not pay the late fee and am into the second billing with another late fee.
They changed my billing date, too, by about 10 days. I saw it and so that was not a problem, but do not think it is a good way to treat customers.
Another thing they do that annoys me is when I return something on my CC they give their Kohl's cash. I have insisted they void it our and return it to my CC. Sometimes they do, sometimes they tell me I had not requested it so they automatically give Kohl's cash.
I think they must be hurting more than most stores to be so desperate.

My husband had some issues with things he was trying to return with the original receipt (not gift receipt). I had ordered a pair of jeans online for him and also a shirt from the store. I was not along (and you all know how that goes), but they told him their computer system was wrong but it wouldn't credit our credit card. Instead they could give him store credit. He really did need some new jeans, so he picked out a different pair and got the same shirt in a bigger size. By the time he got back to customer service, they told him the problem was fixed. Since he had wasted so much time finding the replacements he just did an even exchange, but reading this thread makes me wonder if they were just pulling his leg!
On a positive, he also went to Walmart to return two items - one with no receipt and the other with a gift receipt. Must have been a new person becuase she gave him cash for both! I just about fell over when he returned home with extra cash!

I have never used Kohls website and I don't have a Kohls CC but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE spending an afternoon poking through there clearance rack and trying on clothes. I find such great deals there.

Wow. I love Kohl's. It's one of my favorite stores. (Of course, I live in a small town and don't have many other choices.) I have never had an issue w/ their online store or their credit card. I order from them almost every time they have a 30% code available. I probably use my CC in the actual store at least once every 6 weeks or so. I've never had issues w/ returns either. They have always credited it however I paid for it (which is usually my Kohl's card.)

I don't have a problem with Kohls. When I buy something and use my card for the discount I just make a payment right then at the register for the full amount of my purchase. A lot of people don' know you can do that.

I've never used a credit line at Kohls but I have found that the quality of their clothing has gone down over the last few years. I like the kitchen and home decor departments though.

Hi Belle,
That is odd that they charged you a late fee for a credit balance. I would definately call the credit center and have them remove that late fee. It should not be a problem.

And when you said they give you Kohl's Cash for you returns I'm assuming you are talking about a store credit also called KMRC...it's a red gift card type card? Because Kohl's Cash is something different. And I do know it is not Kohl's policy to automatically give you store credit. The computer defaults to whatever tender you paid with. They are actually doing an override to give you a KMRC. Not a corporate policy. Maybe something that particular manager decided to do for some reason. I would definately insist on a void every time they do this to you.
