Anyone else hate Crocs, Crocs threads, and even typing "Crocs"

I totally agree that they are ugly. A year ago I couldn't believe them when I saw them at the store - figured they wouldn't be around long. All the posts about them (and a great clearance sale) finally prompted me to try them. Even then I thought I hated them the first time I tried them on. Now I wish that I never had to wear regular shoes. But there's no getting around the fact that they are ugly.

I remember a couple of years ago seeing my friend's mother at a birthday party in the nastiest, trailor-looking shoes I'd ever seen. She is a nurse so I thought they must be some sort of medical orthopedic shoe. I thought they looked like shoes they would give you after toe surgery or something. YUCK! My husband and I made fun of those shoes repeatedly until last summer. I was shopping for some shoes to wear on our trip to WDW and I had read about Crocs on these boards. When I saw them - imagine the horror! They were those gawd-awful things I saw my friend's mother wearing. After the way my husband and I made fun of that women in those shoes, I wouldn't be caught dead in them!

They may be comfortable but there are plenty of comfortable, decent looking shoes out there. Whenever I see crocs they remind me of clown shoes. DH and I always snicker about them. The only people I see wearing them around here are the tourists at WDW.

DH told me that if I ever wanted to turn him off, to strap on a pair of those fugly shoes.

And all the threads on here about them...

I have suffered with serious problems with my feet and tried every shoe that fits - these shoes win "hands down" - or feet down should I say?!

They are the only shoes I have ever worn that are totally comfortable.

That makes them really cute to me! I love them, I have about 9 different colours!

I heard about them and decided to look at them, and though my sisters say I have little fashion sense, even I have enough sense to say my god those are the ugliest things I have ever seen.

Now I am not a huge fashion person at all, but there is no way in hell I am going to put something that ugly on my feet, I do have some pride here. I'll wear comfortable shoes, I'll even wear not the most fashionable shoes, but those things go beyond not fashionable they go into the pure these things are too ugly to exist catagory.

I agree. The croc's are just ugly. If you want comfortable shoes then get some Aerosole sandals. www.aerosoles.com much nicer looking and just as comfortable

I have had a pair of black crocs now for about a month - and I LOVE them - they are the only shoe I can wear all day and not have aching feet. I just ordered the Nile sandals and hope they are equally as comfy...my family just laughs when I put them on...

They are ugly, but I love em! They were a little uncomfortable at first- had to break em in. When I'm at a place where people are wearing giant blue sorcerer's hats or big black ears on their heads, the last thing on my mind is if I look cool. (Plus, I can still be sexy even in hideous shoes! )

Call me a "Shoe Snob" but I like a little style on my feet.

Besides I can't stand anything rubbery on my feet. I won't even wear sneakers.

I've thought why would anyone wear those ugly things, they have to make your feet hot and sweaty. Maybe thats why they have all those holes. Air Holes.

I have to agree with you. I have tried these shoes on in the store and they are comfortable, but I can't get past the looks of them.

See my #11 I added about a month ago. I hate them so much I am opening my CROCS store in the next 30 days. You might not like them, but just think of everyone thinking the same thing about how you talk about Disney.

Well....I have 4 pair, dd has 3 pr and dh has just one pr at present. I even broke down and bought the nice, bright lime green ones. Ugly? Yeah, I guess so. But, who in their right mind thinks Birkenstocks are dainty?? Or even sneakers. I'm so over that 'cute' thing. All I know is that when I wear my Crocs, my knees, back and feet don't bother me. Any other shoe and I'm in pain. Sweaty? No, not a bit. Well, I did buy one of the hole-less pairs for winter use. They are terrific for slipping on and running out to get the mail, or even to scrape the driveway after it snows, but the feet do get a bit sweaty in that model. The others, with the holes, have never made my feet sweat. I wear them without socks in the warm weather and with socks when it's chilly/cold. And I can not wear sneakers without socks...go figure.
The way I figure it is this...if you see a thread about Crocs, and you think we're all nuts and couldn't be bothered finding out more about the 'ugliest shoes on the planet' then just don't click on that thread. I never open threads about politics.

If you want comfortable shoes that aren't as ugly as Crocs..might i suggest putting your feet into these beauties.
