anyone else hate buying certain necessities??

I refuse to purchase the higher priced toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, laundry soap (I buy free & clear off brand). I am one of "those people" who wash out their used storage bags (so long as nothing like raw meats or sloppy things were in them...yes, even I have limits!!!) so they can use them again!!!!

We have a Price Rite Store near us so I refuse to purchase snacks, milk, meat or just about any other items unless it beats their prices. Their prices tend to be rock bottom as they are a grocery store. I just wish they accepted coupons!!

I HATE buying toothpaste as I can NEVER find the type I want...just the plain paste w/gel stripe...I don't want Scope, Whitining Crystals, Funky Flavors, Sparkles or ANYTHING ELSE...just regular paste w/gel stripe!!!!!

I used to hate buying maxi pads, but having a semi-continent male dog has cured me of this. I go through a case of overnight pads every week to 10 days. I'm sure the folks at BJs wonder how many ladies live in my house!

My only problem with buying toothpaste is that I want mint flavored floride toothPASTE. I don't want gel, I don't want stripes, I don't want tarter control, 5 way complete dental anilalation, or glitter sparkles. I just want plain old crest/colgate paste. It's impossible to find and it only comes in HUGE tubes.

Other than that the only thing I find annoying besides the stamps (thank god for those great auto machines in the lobby) is milk. We drink like a gallon every other day so it seems like we're always buying milk, because honestly fitting two gallons in my fridge is okay but three or four is impossible unless I keep nothing else on that shelf.

I also live with two other people who refuse to chip in for the laundry soap and tolit paper.

LOL I'd be keeping those things in my bedroom, locked up. Then the discussion on chipping in would take on a whole new attitude....expecially if you have it with them while thier clothes are wet or they are sitting without any paper....

I hate buying clothes and I need to pretty badly. They are so expensive and it seems every nice looking shirt I have major cleavage in or it's too tight in the bust. For pants, the regular length is too short and the the longs are too long. Plus I'm at a size between misses and womens so I can't fit in anything anywhere. I hate it hate it hate it!

I have the exact same problems! Can't find shirts to fit (forget button ups), pants are either too short or I am tripping over them, etc. Misses L/XL is too tight sometimes, but the 1X/2X are huge on me!? Maybe we should start our own clothing line!

I've been buying them for about the last 21 years.

I have three daughters. It seemed like I just got one out of diapers and the next one was born.

My youngest DD will be 14yo in July but because she has a genetic disease, she isn't able to be toilet trained.

I will especially hate buying them when she out-grows the Huggies size 6. I will need to buy them from a medical supply store at the cost of about $1.00 a piece.

I hate paying for garbage bags! Irks me to have to pay for something for the sole purpose of throwing it away. I mean, at least kleenex and toilet paper have another job to do before they're thrown away, but garbage bags?...the only reason we buy these is to throw them away!

Too funny! I never thought about it!

One thing I'm glad I don't have to buy anymore is diapers. We've switched to cloth and I LOVE not having to spend $10 a bag on them. With another little one on the way, it'd be like $20 a week, $80 a month for diapers!

I can SO relate. DD is 22. When she was born, I wanted to use clothe diapers, but the sitter wouldn't use them, nor would my husband, so I gave up. Older DSs are 20 and 14 and both seemed a little slow on the toilet training. Now youngest is 9 and also handicapped and still in Pullups and Goodnights. He is getting better, but still goes through a few a day. He barely fits into the largest Pullups, so I'm not buying any more after what we have are used up. The Goodnights are quite large. You might try them. I lucked into a tub of unopened bags at a yard sale, so got quite a few for $40. Hope they last him a while.

I feel your pain! I have been buying them forever too! I will most likely have 3 in diapers when this little one is born! Hopefully my almost 2 year old will be potty trained or close to. My daughter has developmental delays and I don't forsee her being potty trained for many more years. So, we just keep buying 'em....no choice in the matter....an no, we won't use cloth diapers.

Light bulbs!! I am renting while I build and this place goes through light bulbs. I don't want to buy the spiral ones because it will be a waste of money.Two bathrooms with a total of 12 fancy bulbs, a dining room fixture with a different size fancy bulb and now my stupid flourescents in the laundry room are flickering.

Razors

This is our big one. With DH having to shave at least once, if not twice a day, we go through quite a lot. Toilet paper is another one I definitely agree with.

I buy mine at the grocery store checkout. Not only is it more convenient, but our grocery store gives gas discounts for spending money there, so it adds up that way.

Took me three pages, but I found my soulmate (I'm not hitting on you, I swear...just an expression...). This was EXACTLY what I was thinking as I read this thread. I hate buying something that is expressly for throwing away. Don't really like buying all the other things people mentioned, either, though.

And I didn't copy to quote, but I must add...to the one who said she (or he, dunno) lives with two people who refuse to chip in on the laundry soap and toilet paper? If you're not married to one and didn't give birth to the other, then LOCK IT UP! I'm not kidding. Keep it in your room and carry it with ya to do the job. Heck, nobody likes to have to buy the stuff, but the first time they want it and there isn't any, especially the TP, they'll grow up!

I hate buying my husband's replacement blades for his razor!!!! 24.99 which last him 2 weeks because he insists on switching the blade after every shave. UGH!!!

Kleenex is a dirty word in my house, we never buy it. If I have a cold I use a roll of TP, it's softer than kleenx. if it is good enough for my bum than it's good for my nose!

TP makes my nose red & raw if I use it for a constant runny nose-- even the expensive TP!

The only kind of tissue I buy is Puff's Plus (which has lotion in it). Ahhhhhh... That's nice!!!

I don't like buying dishwasher detergent, laundry soap, dog food, and paying for oil changes.

Insurance...of any kind. We rarely go to the dr., and if we do I pay out of pocket b/c of the deductible. We have never made a claim on our car insurance or our homeowners. Hopefully we never will. But with all of the money I have poured into group insurance, I could have saved it all and probably paid for replacement of what is insured. Maybe not the house...but definitely the cars. For as much as we pay in car insurance they should be doing the maintanance for me! lol
