Anyone else getting VERY frustrated?

Since WDW is actively advertising the summer up to 30% off on TV, I doubt the fall offers will be out there soon. I don't ever recall WDW advertising on TV here in NJ for Summer offers. I think they want to fill up the summer before putting the fall offers on. Over the past few years the free dining was offered in mid April or there about. Only last year was it offered the end of March. Just my thoughts. Until the new ads appeared a few days ago, I thought the free dining would be offered soon, but not now.

I an in Southern NJ . I don't see any TV ads ???

I agree with this -- when I saw a Facebook update from Disney about their new TV ads for the summer promotion, I thought, nope, no free dining promo coming any time soon. As I recall last year, they promoted the *heck* out of free dining -- I felt like I was seeing the ads everywhere.

Well, they've been on the channels we watch, history, fox, travel, food to name a few. It's the 30% offer and I don't watch the CBS,NBC ABC but I've been seeing it at least 1 or 2 times a day.

Who are "all of the people"? The people here on the Dis? We represent a very small number of people who go to Disney.

Why would you think only people on the Dis are doing this?

Sure, if you have a UK mailing address, where they will mail you your documents and a UK credit card.

If you actually try to book the offer of 1/2 off room, 1/2 off tickets and free dining, you will see that it is actually for about 1/2 - 3/4 of Europe, not just UK. So..if you have a residence in, ex: Poland, not the UK, you can still book.

just seems a little odd that they have FD for europe through mid-nov, but not the US.

I'm hoping the FD announcement will run the same length of time for the US and that all the ADR's aren't already gobbled up by the European folks on holiday!

I sent guest relations an Email earlier in the year about this (yes, this deal has been around since January!)

I was told they do that for the UK because.....

1) Those residence tend to spend more days in the parks
My answer..if I got 1/2 off hotel, tickets and free dining, I would spend more time in the parks too

2) They spend more money at Disney
My answer...If my $$ was worth 1 1/2 the amount at Disney, I would spend more too

3) They need to plan ahead because they need to prepare for an international trip
My answer.... their flight is 6ish hours. My flight is 5ish hours. Do they get their deals 11 months in advance because technically, in this case, they are an hour more away? OK, and the passport, which some already have.

Then I was told...

Well, its just the way marketing does it. They are the ones who decide.

Basically, I got nowhere!

I don't think it's odd at all. Europeans plan US vacations MUCH differently than American do. If you live in London, you can't just hop over to Orlando for a few days, nor can you plan spur of the moment, if Free Dining comes out.

Just going to head this off at the pass here..

The "such and such guests get this and we don't" arguments go NOWHERE.

Disney's marketing machine makes the offers they do at the times they do because that's what their research has told them consumers in those individual markets respond to and when they typically make their vacation plans etc.

Ultimately.. as with last year, I expect F/D to be offered here.. on Disney's timeline *(not ours) and I expect it will probably be extended in the fall... (same as last yaer) and again, on Disney's timeline -- not ours.

Arguing about it on the internet will get nobody anywhere. It's a dollars and cents business decision. It's not personal. Many people take this stuff 'personally' and really.. that's silly.

ALL OF IT.. is about how Disney can maximize their returns in each international market. I suspect we could all argue with Disney til we are blue in the face ... we can't argue with their success at identifying the hot buttons and pushing out their promotions in such a way as to generate peak interest and booking results.

Just look at how we're all lathered up over a promotion that hasn't even been released yet!

That's smart business.

If you have concerns - contact Disney. Let's keep this thread free of the international infighting that closed another thread earlier today.

wow....wasn't expecting to get flamed just because I thought something was odd! good thing I wore asbestos underwear today! :lmao::scared::lmao:

The Godfather:
Sonny: "You're taking this very personal. Tom, this is business and this man is taking it very personal."
Michael: "It's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly business.":thumbsup2
