Anyone else get their USAA dividend check yet?

We got our check today. We have been members of USAA since 1974 and don't plan on changing to any other company.

Oh wow .. thanks for the explanation!

Hmm.. I wonder how much the account has to be before I start getting a check... and from the looks of it.. my dividend has been under $25 so even if my SSA account did exceed that certain amount I wouldn't get a check anyways..

Are you sure that it's only dependants that are not in this plan because I have a friend who is in the military.. he is single and he gets a check every year.. He's not in this plan

yea the plan stinks

If he is in the military, he would be in the plan with the SSA. Depending on his insurance rates, claims for that year, what he paid out, etc., and how much is in his SSA, he is getting a check. Like I said, I am in the SSA plan and I just got my first check. My co-worker (who used to be in the Navy) has had USAA for over 20 years, has an SSA and got a huge check.

OK... I have no clue what this is.. I just did a google and have to read up on it.

Anyone have a quick synopsis..

Oops, see an explanation above....thanks.

Got our check yesterday too!!

HOw much was your check everyone??

Very curious. My check was for $27.

$63 :)

We'll never leave USAA because we wouldn't be able to get back in -- DW's dad was a captain in the Army, that's how she got in. We just kept her coverage, and added me, once we got married. :)

about $91. Some years it has been a lot more, some a lot less. The check is based on auto insurance only (at least that is my understanding)

I'm like the others. Never leaving USAA.

hmm ok I know he has been with USAA for less then 2yrs and he is a GA National Guardsman..(reservist) but works full time as a technician.. so I wonder if that makes a difference?

I do know he has been in 2 accidents in the last year.. LOL and does have a high insurance rate because of the type of car he has..

Maybe I should get in more accidents.. :rotfl: Kidding..

Well I will be looking forward to when we start getting checks.. :teeth: Might be a long time still tho..

We've been getting the dividend for years and DW was active duty for several years and I can't remember when she/we didn't have the SSA. Not sure I understand the connection. Either way, USAA is a good organization. We do a lot of our financial business with them including all of our insurance and wound be hard pressed to want to change.

Actually, once you are in you can always get back in. You can join if you are military, the family member of military, the ex-spouse of military OR are previous member, as I understand it.

Also, I think that even if you were to cancel your policies, you would still have a USAA number (and thus be a member). I'm sure there is a purge process but I know that my oldest son has a USAA number and has never had any policies or accounts with them. But he can start them up anytime using his membership. We just got a USAA number for our youngest son, who isn't driving yet. We got him one of those pre-paid debit cards from them and as a result started his membership. USAA is a great organization!

I worked in I.T. for GEICO for several years and always got some minor grief for not being insured with them (very minor grief - more like "ribbing"). But there is no way I ever would have left USAA.

I worked for Geico too ..they couldnt get me to leave USAA either ;)

We got a $92 check today. I suppose that's not too bad, considering I live in Mississippi!

Very curious. My check was for $27.

I don't know why we get two checks, but we do every year. We have had them since 1981 or so. We have auto and homeowners. One check was for $195, the other is for $385. DS 26 got one for $54.

We got ours yesterday! Last year, I accidentally threw ours out. :earseek: Thankfully, they credited our account and cancelled the check that I had tossed.

I got something from them today and I opened it and looked like junk mail and tossed it. Now I am worried it wasn't. hehe.

I guess I'd better go re-check the mail from yesterday and today.....don't remember seeing an envelope yet...

This was the first year I got one and I have been a member for years.

$41 bucks.

Not sure why but hey its free money.

USAA has always been great but during the Hurricane when our house was damaged (not a great deal) their response was horrible. Plain and simple horrible. I know, everyone is thinking that it was that way because of the size of the storms. However, this is not the case.

I still am planning on filing a complaint against them.

With that being said, their Auto Insurance and Bank have been 100% great.

Ours ended up coming today....$91.

It said on the letter attached to the check that it was an automobile insurance dividend. We have homeowners as well and have gotten a check every year since I started driving.
