It's not just buffets where this kind of mishandling of the food can happen either. Here is my story. It was my honeymoon and my wife and I were staying at the Polynesian in Concierge. This was back when the concierge lounge was in the main lobby area and was called King Kamehameha (sp?)... Anyway, they had food and drinks out all day, nothing as elaborate as they do now. They always had a bowl of macadamia nuts out, which are my FAVORITE!! I had some each day until I saw a 3 or 4 year old taking spoonfuls of nuts out and eating them FROM THE SPOON!!! Parents off somewhere else lounging.. Totally grossed me out.. Needless to say, I skipped the macademia nuts for the rest of our honeymoon, which for me, is very hard to do..

I will never understand why people don't keep an eye on their kids when they are around communal food such as buffets and concierge lounges.. Sometimes kids forget, it is up to the parents to catch them. Of course when you have a parent like the kind that DeeP described in their post, I guess anything can happen.
