Nope-- not a typo. Last Friday night at 10:30 PM, we went to check in at POR with our 79 AP rate, and were told there were no rooms available(!). I had reserved in Oct, and had already put down a deposit for one night. The mgr said they were searching for a room for us at another moderate resort, to which I politely replied that we didn't care for any of the other moderates, which was why we had booked at POR in the first place. He found a standard room for us at AKL, with a lovely view of a roof. We were thrilled to get such a bargain, but still a little shocked that they would overbook like that. We were also relieved that we didn't have the kids with us-- the wait would have made for a long stressful night. Anyway, the lesson I learned was that it never hurt to politely request an upgrade, especially when Disney was at fault. I do plan to contact WDW to let them know about the mixup, though-- not as a complaint, but a heads-up. Loved AKL--had a great weeeknd after a rocky start.
