We tip about $5 daily and $15 upon checkout because I know they have to strip the room in very little time that day. Also by the time we left, we had two LARGE boxes of recycling and half a dozen blown-up balloons (I *told* my Mom to only blow up one or two... not six...) AND my DD had spilled some juice on the sheets while watching cartoons, thereby causing the poor Mousekeeper to change our whole bedding setup twice during the stay.
I've watched enough College Program videos, I get it, I would want to be treated nicely by my guests too, if I was Mousekeeping! I also worked in housecleaning for the better part of 2 years, no fun at all, and people make a mess just so that you can clean up after them...
And no it doesn't bother me that they might use Windex on my drinking glasses. Or that the cloth cleaning the mirror might also be the same one that was used to wipe down the bathtub. It's soap, people. Scientifically it has been doing the same thing for all time. A brand or manufacturer can't change science - all I care about is that the room is vaguely clean by my visual standards. Like I've said before, my DH and I joke about bringing a blacklight just to see all the fun stains, but we never do...
