Anyone else ever feel invisible?

Not a thread killer, but when your post is completely skipped over or your new post quickly disappears to the 2nd page. My poor self esteem is frolicking with the worms.....no longer in the dirt, but now below ground level.

It happens to all of us sometimes. Look how many posts I have and how long I've been around - but I rarely start posts for that very reason! (=that it'll disappear to the second page really fast!) Plus - I won't start controversial posts, and those are the ones that get heavy replys!

I hate it when you post a new thread, and no one posts any replies. However someone that's more well known posts the EXACT same thread and similar thread title, and everyone responds to that one.

I hate that. I posted one last night & even I can't find it. I even did a search of all my posts for the past week. It has vanished into cyber space. I guess my "vent" about elementary school science fairs was too whiny.

Heck yeah. I have shamelessly bumped my own threads to keep it near the top, just to have it wittle away to nothing anyway...with no other replies beside my own!

My favorite is when I will say something and then a couple posts after mine somebody else will say almost the exact same thing and the OP will respond to that person and not to me. I'll check my back to see if I'm wearing the "Ignore Me" sign!

It honestly happened more when I first started hanging around the community forum and I think some of it does have something to do with how "known" a person is. Not in a cliquey way, but just because relationships do develop. Hmmm, that sounds like the definition of cliquey.

Hang around more, post more, and that will change.

But of course a lot of it is that there are SO many posts and threads do get buried very quickly. That happens to all of us. I do go back and bump my posts up (pr posts of other people) if there aren't responses when I think there would might be interest. Sometimes the timing just isn't right and a day later there will be a lot of interest and the thread will take off.

Ive been message boarding for 10 years! TEN YEARS ON DISNEY BOARDS - and Ive never created long term friendships, or pals, or even buddies.

Im very unliked.

Ahh well - these boards help me waste time during the day, plan my (always) upcoming Disney trips, and have made me a walking Disney know-it-all. So, Im fine with it.

Im not here to make friends.

(that above line was sarcasm - which because we're on boards I dont think a lot of people get.... hence why I think Im unliked. Im too sarcastic for my own good... lets pirate again: )

I think a lot of it is because this place moves so fast. I'm newer around here and I've decided I'm going to try to read & respond to the posts that don't have too many responses. I feel bad when someone doesn't get responses!

I know from past message boards - generally email loops will start. In these 10 years Ive been doin' this - Ive been invited to ONE (had NO idea they even did this) and THEN a big broo-ha-ha started and several members left in a huff. (get too many chics together, there's bound to be trouble!) So the ONE time I was *invited* to an all-exclusive email club, it got all broken up. ARGH!
