Anyone else ever feel invisible?

Maybe you need a less scary Jack Skellington for your avatar . . . :scratchin

:lmao: I have to like you. You only live a few seconds away from me. You could easily come over :moped: although I wouldn't mind that. Working on our yard could use some help. As a matter of fact if DF knows how to do plaster boarding?/patching up big holes in walls and could help DH I would be eternally grateful. :worship: I've been living with huge holes in kitchen wall for 4 years and I am afraid to hire someone for fear of being cheated. Anyone in our area know of someone who is good but who will not cheat us?

My favorite is when I will say something and then a couple posts after mine somebody else will say almost the exact same thing and the OP will respond to that person and not to me. I'll check my back to see if I'm wearing the "Ignore Me" sign! :rotfl:
Yup. ::yes:: Sometimes everyone is laughing uproariously quoting the person who said exactly the same thing I said a page before, and I was ignored. :confused3 I want to jump in with "I said it first!!", but I figure it's better to be ignored than to show my childish and jealous side. ;)

I'm not well-liked, either. I hung out on another site for years, and while I thought I was pretty friendly with most of the regulars, I sometimes felt ignored there, too. My "home board" was small enough that if somone was gone for a while, people would ask "where's so-and-so?" Well, I was gone for a couple of months, came back and there wasn't one post asking where I was.

I was kind of "done" with that site for other reasons anyway, so I decided that instead of posting, I'd just pop in and lurk every once in a while. A year later, still, no one has ever asked what happened to me. Guess they didn't like me much, after all. :sad2:

So anyway OP, I feel invisible, too. I think a lot of people do. It's the nature of the internet. Despite my story above, I don't let it bother me. I still have fun here, whether people respond to me or not. :goodvibes

Now... off to find that post of yours that got ignored.

I read each and every reply.......didn't ignore a one of you! I am only half heartedly serious. I am actually kind of fond of the worms...... I always help the ones who get stranded on my patio after it rains return to the yard.......but it is good to know that I am not alone. :goodvibes

Yes, I feel like Im ingored all the stinking time!

Great thread.....although, I'm pretty sure this will be the death of it. TA DA!
It has now officially been visited by the Queen of Thread Annihilation!!! :scared1: I figure, when you're really good at something, you may as well have a title!!! LOL!!!

Hey, get in the back of the line lady, I was here first!

Just kidding, but seriously I know what you mean. I have come to the conclusion to at least post what I want to say, because if I dont it will bug me until I do. I wish it wasn't so but I do think about dis threads while not dis'ing.

Which part??? Yes it IS! You calling me a liar?? <<shake fist>> pirate:

I know from past message boards - generally email loops will start. In these 10 years Ive been doin' this - Ive been invited to ONE (had NO idea they even did this) and THEN a big broo-ha-ha started and several members left in a huff. :confused3 (get too many chics together, there's bound to be trouble!) So the ONE time I was *invited* to an all-exclusive email club, it got all broken up. ARGH! :furious:

So - Im unliked!!! :rolleyes1

Hahaha, I've never been invited either and did not know they existed.

I'm not sure if I'm invisible or not....but ppl around here sure yell at me a lot!

That's okay...I can take the abuse. :rotfl:

I almost posted this exact same thing the other day. Not this board so much, but another one makes me feel this way. Looking at the answers to your post it would seem that at one time or another we all seem invisible or ignored. What's worse though is that my post was also going to include my family. It's one thing to be ignored on boards, but when you talk and your family acts like they don't hear you or simply talk over you, that's when it really hurts. I'm not talking about children just ignoring you, I am talking about adults and spouses. It hurts, I know.

:goodvibes and :grouphug: to the OP and everyone that feels ignored.

I've been being ignored on the DIS since the late 90's. I'm used to it. :teeth:

Do I hear you!!!! It can be rather depressing when your post is ignored.

However, when I think about my habits on message boards, I tend to only reply to a thread that interests me, regardless of who the OP is.... That's really secondary to me. I try to remember that when no one replies to my threads.

AI find it the hardest on the trip report board. You work really hard on your report, and people don't respond (or only a handful). I'm debating whether I should write one this year or not.

Anyway - thanks to the OP for starting this thread. I feel your pain!! :goodvibes

Happened to me just the other day, except I opted for the childish route. No one was paying any attention to my brilliantly stated opinion, so I quoted myself!
How pathetic is that? :rolleyes1

So yes, I know the feeling.

Honestly though, folks often jump in on a thread (especially when the OP is a question) without reading through the other responses first.
You just can't let it get to you.

Here's my big Dis boards claim to fame:
Dan Murphy once responded to one of my posts personally, so even if he doesn't remember it... I figure I belong :teeth: even if I am ignored on a regular basis.

Also....especially on trip report, look how many people READ it or looked at the post.

Sometimes, the boards are running slow and I can't always post, though I did enjoy reading it.

Ive been message boarding for 10 years! TEN YEARS ON DISNEY BOARDS - and Ive never created long term friendships, or pals, or even buddies.

Im very unliked.

Ahh well - these boards help me waste time during the day, plan my (always) upcoming Disney trips, and have made me a walking Disney know-it-all. So, Im fine with it. :wizard:

Im not here to make friends. pirate:

(that above line was sarcasm - which because we're on boards I dont think a lot of people get.... hence why I think Im unliked. Im too sarcastic for my own good... lets pirate again: pirate: )

Maybe it's that scary picture under your tags? :rotfl2: Well the Tag Fairy likes you.

I've done that before. :rotfl:

There is one poster who has ignored me so many times that I finally figure out that I must be on their ignore list. Don't know why I would be, though. Then finally they kind of responded to something I said, so I finally figured out that I wasn't on their ignore list, but that they just didn't like my opinion. Oh, well. ;)

I think it is the time of day sometimes. If you post when everyone is on you get more responses. If it's a slow time you can get bumped away faster.
