Anyone else enjoy it when a ride stops?

If I get to choose, I don't mind getting stuck in ToyStory. I can score more points!!

No you don't, when this ride goes down all the point values go to zero and you can keep shooting but it's all for not, we take the opportunity to rest the arm. Now, buzz lightyear on the other hand....isn't that intelligent. :rotfl2:

I've been stuck on 5 rides: Monster's Inc in Disneyland and in WDW Small World, Pooh, Big Thunder Mountain & Splash Mountain. I was also on Space Mountain when the lights went on. The two roller coasters were pretty cool. It was nice to ride Space Mountain with the lights on and we were evacuated from a hill on BTMR and we walked through the inside of the mountain. We were also evacuated off Monster's Inc., but we were near the end anyway. Pooh and Small World were somewhat annoying, but Splash Mountain was really awful. We were stuck under the vultures for over 30 minutes .... 'Happy place? I'll show YOU a 'happy place'!" Ugh.

So what you are saying is, that was NOT your happy place? :):rotfl2:

If I recall TSMM turns scoring off and posts a practice screen if there is a stop. I hate it though when the ride doesn't stop and the screens don't work.

I dont mind a stop on HM as it gives me more time to take in details. I've been stopped at that waterfall on Spalsh before! Yuck!

We've had some short stops on a few different rides (mostly HM, Splash, and POTC) but the longest stop was last October on POTC. We were stopped for 20-25 minutes right past the beach scene, right as it gets dark before the drop. It was perfect...you could still hear the mermaids singing, and the wind was like white noise, and it was nice and dark. Very relaxing. I may or may not have gotten a little nap in.

Stopped +20 minutes under the obnoxious vultures in Splash Mountain wasn't very fun. We were just thankful we were just floating and not reclined on the lift hill like the riders in front of us.

The incline just past those buzzards was EXACTLY where I was stuck years ago with my DBFF and her family! About 20 minutes of hearing the vultures and straining to hear Brer Fox & Rabbit up ahead was enough to make me go crazy. I still quote their line when I'm bored with something. "Laughing place? We'll show you a laughing place...."

I've also been stuck going backward down into the graveyard at HM with absolutely nothing but darkness to my right. I'm afraid of pitch-black darkness, so I focused on singing along with 'Grim Grinning Ghosts' and eventually switched to "Small World" to keep from freaking out.

Lastly, at Disneyland on the Bear River Run. We were stuck on the incline dead center of the Mill you pass under, which was fortunate since it was the middle of July and at least we were in the shade even if it got very uncomfortable. We felt so bad for the rafts behind and ahead of us since they were out in the sun.

I've never been stuck on anything at Disney! One trip as a child and two as an adult, and I don't recall anything stopping on us. I did get stuck on Superman Ultimate Flight at Six Flags, and we were stuck in the position where you are facing down, arms dangling. It wasn't for terribly long, but it became uncomfortable. I would hate to be stuck on any kind of incline-- my lower back is troublesome, and I'm afraid such a thing would take me out of commission at least for the day.

Stuck on Superman too! I think it was for 40 minutes or so. My feet and arms were numb. Bizarre experience!!!!

The first time we ever rode the Great Movie ride, our car broke down at the Wizard of Oz section and we had to walk out. It was rather neat to walk out.

Another time my son and I got stuck on the first incline of Splash Mountain for 30 minutes. It wasn't too bad for him because he is short enough to lean his head back. Not so much for the rest of the adults in the log. The upside is the other folks in the log were cast members that had a day off and they were hilarious.

We stopped on Buzz long enough for me to hit a high value target over & over so that I ended the ride as a Galactic Hero :cool1:

Last trip we stopped on Winnie the Pooh. We were going through a doorway at the time so we were "trapped." We were the last ones evacuated because they had to wait for enough maintenance guys to get there so they could push our car forward. It was fun walking out and we got some really cool pictures. BTW? The Tigger that bounces up and down could seriously use some WD40 because that sucker squeaks like you wouldn't believe!:rotfl:

I would LOVE to get stuck on It's a Small World!!

I'd love the idea of this, but I wonder if the when the ride stops the games stops too!

I have been stuck on numerous rides, mainly at Six Flags Great America. However at Disney World I've had the joy of being stuck on It's A Small World in the room just before the exit tunnel for what was 20 minutes with the song just going over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Was also stuck on Living with the Land right out of the gate for about 10 mins just watching the rain scene.

Been stuck on the People Mover in the Space Mountain Tunnel for 15 mins, however Space Mountain was still moving and dark, this was just as bad as It's A Small World because the cast member kept making announcements that the ride could restart any moment and you need to sit your butt down (in a nicer way) and the speakers were on at full blast, or she was yelling into the microphone, either way it hurt your ears with every announcement.

While not stuck on the ride, I did get to experience Test Track at Walking Speed till it was time to run the loop outside. Imagine the horror of essentially walking into the Semi-Truck and slowly swerving away. I don't know what happened that ride, but it was like being stuck behind an old granny who could barely see over the driving wheel on the actual road.
~That's just awful -- being stuck for 20 minutes on IASW is terrible. Disney should have comped your entire vacation for that!

~You've managed to get stuck on a lot of my favorite rides! I totally *love* the rain scene of Living W/The Land -- I wouldn't mind a just a few extra minutes to enjoy that.

~I *love* the People Mover, it could circle around all day and I would be fine, lol. That said, I would not like to be stuck on it -- but at least you were inside Space Mountain -- I like that part and the buzz lightyear section, too.

~That's strange about Test Track moving slow like that. I totally agree with you -- I wouldn't like to experience it in slow motion, but at least you were moving and got to experience fast part! :cool1:

The upside is the other folks in the log were cast members that had a day off and they were hilarious.

That's funny. We we were stuck on Winnie the Pooh with CMs and they were a hoot, too. I took a cute picture of them giving me a thumbs up because I wanted to remember them :)

Only once did a ride stop upset me. We were literally one car away from the exit area on Buzz, just starting to exit the last room. The cars in front of us were allowed to exit but starting with us and everyone behind us, we had to stay put. We sat there for 15 minutes (which feels like an eternity when you're looking at the unloading zone) and they wouldn't let us leave! It was during a morning EMH - what a waste of our time. I was quite frustrated.

But those poor folks who got stuck on the monorail for 4 hours last year? I would've cried and for sure peed my pants! And the thought of being stuck up on EE is enough to make me skip the ride completely.

On our trip this January the Great Movie ride had problems. We got stuck in the ganster shoot out room for about 10 minutes; the CM playing the gangster was great and stayed in character while trying to make her get away in a car that wouldn't move and making excuses:) Another gangster CM actually came out to check on us; koodoos for their ability to improvise.

We also stopped again in the Wizard of Oz room. The sequence played out fine, but the car wouldn't go. All the munchins retreated into their hidding spots and just silently watched us... it was a bit eerie.

It's fun for 10-15 minutes to soak in the scenery... but after being stuck on PoC for close to an hour before finally being evacuated I'd prefer not to ever again. It took them 30 or so minutes before they finally muted the sound. Listening to "We want the red head!" for that long is enough to drive even the sanest person crazy. :rolleyes1 But, at least it wasn't Small World! :lmao:

When were you stuck on PoTC?!

I was stuck on May 13th (or 14th) and it was for close to 45 minutes from when we stopped to when they evacuated us. We were stuck in a boat a little before the "we want the red head!" scene.

I do like getting stuck on rides, if it's reasonable. PoTC was an extreme for me cuz it did take 30 or so minutes for them to finally decide they wanted to evacuate everyone. I also had a pregnant woman sitting in front of me who needed a bathroom ASAP, so that made it interesting. It was very cool to see the lights on, noise off and then their procedure for evacuation. They gave us a FP that was good until the end of May. Pretty neat.
