Anyone else eagerly awaiting reviews of the "improved" Wishes Dessert Party?

I hope it improves. When we went the desserts were so lackluster that I felt a little cheated. Granted, it was several years ago, but I often find myself horribly disappointed in WDW desserts, with just a few exceptions. Everything always looks better than it tastes.

We did it the first year they had it and thought it was awesome. They included a free photo pass picture of you right
In front of the castle. We then did it on our trip in 2013 and felt like they cut a lot but raised the prices. No more picture, felt like less people working their, and felt like they packed more people in. If anyone did it the time with the photos and doing it again now with the changes I would love to hear about what they thought

We have it booked for the end of August and I'm waiting to hear reviews as well. We haven't done this one before, but did the Frozen one last summer and our kids loved the experience. The desserts weren't great, but they enjoyed the whole day. I paid a similar price to this "improved" party for the Frozen package last summer and it included unlimited drinks and ice cream with a parade viewing area, priority seating for the sing a long and the dessert party and fireworks viewing area. I'm not expecting to get as much for my money with this, but hope the desserts are at least decent and they don't cram in too many people.

Well, I hope that it is a great experience for those that go. In the past we would have paid the lower price just for the reserved Wishes seating but that's hard to justify at the current price.

I'm interested in a review, because I've dropped it from my 2016 plans due to the price increase. If people think it was worth the increase, I may reconsider.

HeavyC I would love to hear a review if you have the time. Hope you enjoy it! We loved it this past December and even with the price increase, I am trying to find one for our August trip. I think it will still be worth it for a nice break to sit down for WISHES. And great score getting the ADR with just a couple days to go!!! Enjoy.

Looking forward to hearing some reviews as well. DF and I are booked 08/31 for the first night of our honeymoon. While I've never done to previous incarnation of the party, this seemed like a perfect way to start our vacation. The price was steep, I suppose, but its Disney and to me its worth it.

I just heard that this is $49 a person now. That is really expensive. But Disney knows that there will always be people that buy their product at any price.

I'm curious to see what it's like now too.

We are booked for 8/8, our first full day at WDW. I have gone back and forth, I know the food is not going to "outstanding", but, I chalk it up to paying for location. I hate having to park myself in a spot two hours prior, to secure a viewing of the fireworks. So, for us, for this trip, it's worth it. If the food is meh, so be it.

Can't wait for the reviews! We booked for late August, but might cancel based on reviews. It was such a huge price increase that we just can't decide if it will be worth it. Thanks for the (anticipated) reviews! :)

You are so correct. If Disney announced they were going to raise this even further to $100 and make it only a bottle of water and a chocolate chip cookie there would still be an endless line waiting to say, "I can't wait for it." :goodvibes

That is one of the things that is so fantastic about a WDW vacation. There is something for everyone, and something that one family looks forward to and enjoys may not be another family's cup of tea. For us, this will be a new experience and we are so excited! We love trying new things, and of course revisiting some of our favorites as well.

Also awaiting reviews. It was on our must do list for our next trip, but the price increase is not nice. Does anyone know if it's just one glass of cider or all you want? The addition of alcohol might just sway it as we're both big fans of cider. Although I don't like dry cider, I go for the sweet stuff.

I could wrong, but I don't think it's alcoholic cider that's being added. I think it's sparkling juice. The Illuminations Sparkling Dessert party at Epcot serves wine, but I didn't think the one at MK did? Someone may correct me if I'm wrong, but that was my understanding.

If it's non alcoholic, isn't that just apple juice? Or is that a linguistic difference? In the UK, cider is alcoholic. If there isn't alcohol, it's not cider.

If so, what a bummer. And Disney need to change that on their UK version of the site, or they'll get plenty of peeved Brits wanted to know who stolen their alcohol!! ;)

Lol! We've got alcoholic cider here in Canada, too. Not sure why it's worded that way, it says cider on the version I see, too. Could be misleading for sure!! Hopefully there are too many misunderstandings or we might have an angry mob!! :)

It's funny, because I have noticed they are normally pretty good at translating terms with different meanings, @22Tink - our planning book suggests bringing a bum bag, for example- the US term (f***y pack) is pretty rude in the UK! I can't even type it even though I understand the other meaning!!
