well I am - after losing 7.5lbs on my own and saying "I'm going to join ...." I finally did last Thursday after I noticed a 2lb wgt regain:eek: - I like it - its easy - and I can eat what I want as long as I stay within my point range. - now by my scale I have lost 3lbs since I started - but thats without clothes - we will see in a couple of days how I've done when I weigh in.

Okay so any of you folks doing the WEIGHT WATCHERS THING - would love to know what you think - like it - hate it - how long you have been doing it how much you have lost etc.

I am!!!! So are a lot of other DISers and we even have a weight loss support group here on the DIS. It is called WISH (We're Inspired to Stay Healthy) and you can find us here: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=59

I have been on WW for 10 weeks now and have lost 19-1/4 pounds and WISH has been a great place for me to gain motivation, support and encouragement. So stop on over, there is always room for one more.

Hi Yasuern! I'm also a Weight Watcher. I've been on the program since March 6, 2002. I LOVE it for the same reasons you too. There's nothing off limits. There's no such thing as a "forbidden food", as long as it's done in moderation.

I've lost 140 pounds so far. I have another 3.4 until I become a lifetime member, and 23.4 until I hit my personal goal. (That's a little trick...when they ask for an ultimate goal weight, take the highest one they'll give you, so you can maintain for 6 weeks, and become a lifetime member, and not have to pay!)

PM me if you ever need support, encouragement, or a recipe! :)

I moved this over here...I knew there would be a ton of good answers...Hope you stay and enjoy yourself here!!!!

Yes, I'm a WW! :)

I did it last year and lost 20 lbs, then fell off the wagon. I'm back on since April 1 and have lost 7.5 lbs so far. I love the program -- it's easy to live with, flexible, and it works for me. :)

I'm absolutely committed to it for life.

Good luck on your journey!! Please feel free to hang out here with us whenever you need support!!

Wow Dan!! Good for you!!

I've been on Weight Watchers since the end of January (today is my 12 week "anniversary") and have lost 23.5 pounds. I wasn't too fastidious for about 2 weeks ago, but I think I'm back on track now. I would like to reach 25 pounds by my next weigh in on Saturday and finally make it to 30 pounds lost. I have many more to go, but we do need our mini-goals.

I've been doing WW for about 2 months and love it. It's fairly easy to follow and I CAN have what I want, as long as I keep within my points range.

I am also the type of person who needs to have someone else keep any eye on me. ;) By weighing-in every week, I have someone else who knows if I've gained. And when I achieve Lifetime, I will still have to weigh-in once a month to help keep me honest!!

I LOVE Weight Watchers!!!

I started on March 9th and have lost 11 pounds (or so, it was 12.5 a little while ago but I kind of got overconfident and went overboard a few days...) ;)

The WW website posts new recipes once in a while and we have a WW recipe thread stuck at the top of this board. I just made the Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches this week and they were awesome!!! Also made a mexican/chicken/layer/casserole thingy for DH to take to work (along with cooked broccoli, carrots, and his fruit) and he raved about it!

Hope you join us here!!! We are always happy to have one more on board. Oh, I am just doing WW at home, not really on the points program, just following some menus in an old WW cookbook my MIL gave me (although I am learning about points and incorporating some new recipes into my routine!) :)

I love WW as well. I do the program on my own here at home and that works for me right now. If I start having lots of problems staying accountable then I will need to start going to the meetings. For now I just use this board as my support group. :)

I lost about 30 pounds in 3 1/2 months two years ago on WW before I became pregnant. I have started back up again a month ago and I have lost 12.5 pounds already.

It is a great program and I hope that you enjoy it as well. :)

I've been doing WW since Feb. 6th and I love it! Its the easiest program I've ever been on since there are no off limit foods. The hardest part has been learning portion control but I think that's something everyone needs to learn. Its just very hard sometimes!

Welcome to WISH!!!

Another WW person here! I go for my third weigh in on Thursday...so far i have lost 7.6 pounds...hoping to hit the big 10 this week, but I'll be happy with a 1 pound difference. (I was not real good this week...major stress days)

I have been a Lifetime Member of WW since 1971 having lost 40 lbs. It has truely been a struggle ever since. In order to keep the weight off, I have to continue to journal and attend meetings. I feel like an alcoholic who has to be around booze every day. If I don't journal it, it does not count. That can be very dangerous.

My 23 yr. old son and I are going to WDW and on the Wonder at the very end of this month. He is in an electric wheel chair and I will be in an aircast due to a bunionectomy that went wrong! I am already worrying about what I will eat. I dont' want to spoil his fun, but I know how easily things could get out of control.

Although I dont' need to lose weight, I would love to be a part of the WISH board. How do I go about doing that? I want to be able to display the WISH banner with my name.

Thanks,

Judy

Judy, WELCOME!!! We would love to have you a part of WISH! A friend of mine lost 113 lbs. on WW and she's not quite at goal. She said a similar thing about going to meetings and journaling the rest of her life to be able to stay in control and keep the weight off.

Congratulations on making it to lifetime!!! You should be very proud of that accomplishment! Have a great time on your trip! We're going on a Disney trip soon too and I'm going to try to be careful about what I eat but have the attitude that if I do gain a little bit I'll just get it off as soon as I get home.

There is a link on the board here somewhere to get the clippie WISH logo. I will see if I can find it!

I am a member of WeightWatchers online. I am in my 7th week and have lost 15lbs.

Good Luck,
Lyn:)

I am on WW and I really like it. My favorite thing is the meetings. I have actually tried WW before, and this is my 4th time. The difference this time is that I decided this is it, I am finally on my way. Welcome, and hope you like WISH.

Thanks for the link. I will be trying it out as soon as I have a few extra minutes. I'll get my computer buff son to help me. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

WW WW WW WW Rah Rah Rah!!!! I have tried this about 3 times. I have tried the meeting but did not like the leader and did not go back after about 6 months!!! This time I have been playing with it since January but only got serious the beginning to the middle part of March!! I have lost 16.25 lbs. so far and feel great!!! Welcome to WISH!!

Just started today! I did WW from January to May of last year and lost 19 1/2 lbs. Unfortunately, I've gained back 9 of those in the last year.
