I'm not a big New Year's Eve fan. I tried to find family type events near me and there are none. Everything is catered to adults and drinking and partying. Kinda stinks! So DS and I will be staying home and ordering a pizza. I'm so tired from Christmas that I probably won't even last until midnight!!

Anyone else staying home?

We usually stay home on NYE and don't make a big deal of it. Since I'm working in the morning, I won't even be staying up until midnight this time.

I'll be sleeping by 9 pm the couch I'm sure....DD's are with me this weekend, and DBF has his kids so we're all just staying home doing nuffin....

perfect for me, I'm still sore from the day at okemo yesterday!

Yup, doing nothing tonight. Will probably find some bad movie to watch and fall asleep before midnight. DH is a limo driver and will be out most of tonight driving. DD will probably be the only one home who actually see's the new year come in!

My family won't be doing anything too exciting tonight. We'll watch movies, eat snacky type food and DH and I will probably split a bottle of wine later. We're going to celebrate "New Years" at 7pm so that the kids can get to bed in time (it's midnight somewhere ;) ).

Actually, most people we know do something similar on New Years Eve. I think going out and partying is overrated.

I've never been much of a NYE person either, BIG Christmas fan who is sort of still on a high from that!

It's just me and my son tonight, eating hot wings and watching dumb stuff on the new DVR! I told him to wake me up at 11:59!

I will be in bed by 10 tonight or so since I have to be at the airport by 7 am tomorrow. I was originally going to Wisconsin to be with my parents for NYE, but they didn't like the idea of me leaving at midnight (drunks on the road) so I could get a couple hours of sleep at home before heading to the airport.

Yup. :teeth: Use to hate NYE, probably because I was sick of seeing relatives get plastered. Since I've been married, we've kept it low key and were in bed before midnight. I still won't make midnight, but maybe DH and I will watch "It's a Wonderful Life" after the kids are in bed. We missed our little tradition Christmas Eve.

Some towns around here are starting up First Nights as opposed to NYE celebrations. I really like that idea. They're geared more toward families and not so much partying.

staying in here too!
Today is the first day off (other then christmas) I've had since dec 18th! I'm tired & probably won't make it til midnight.
I've made a big pot of Jambalaya for tonight & my Boyfriend will be over later & we'll have dinner & watch some football. And, I'll be asleep on the couch well before midnight! Good luck to those of you who will make it til then!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hey Jason, where do your parents live in WI. The state patrol has put people of double shifts tonite. People are so stupid if they drink and drive. Sheriffs dept. even wait in their vehicles for people to walk out of bars. If a person starts their car, they stop them and give them a breathalizer test. This is why hardly any bars are open in WI tonite.

Unfortunatley I will be home too, after my surgery on Wednesday, I dont feel up for much, I went to the mall last night and could only stay an hour I was already tired, so I will be spending New Years alone this year, pretty sad for a single 24 year old.....oh well there is always next year....

I know the feeling. I hated NYE and Valentine's Day when I was in my early 20s

We're staying home tonight and watching movies. We live in Northern California and are in the middle of a nasty storm, so there's no way we are driving on the wet roads with people who most likely have been drinking!

Nothing doing here.. I've been really sick to my stomach all day and very, very cold, so I think I might be getting some kind of bug..

I'll work on the scrapbooks for my stepkids, listen to the C/W radio station, maybe pop in here from time to time, and go to bed whenever..

I've never been a NYE person anyhow.. Usually spend the evening listening to the radio, cleaning out my filing cabinets, gathering tax info, and wondering where the past year has gone..

I'll be glad to see 2005 end.. Looking forward to 2006 and whatever adventures it may bring..

Nothing here either. I have my girls, it's snowing and sleeting, and most of my friends have other plans that don't include kids.

Yeah Silly but I know where you will be tonight :rolleyes1

I hear you on that one!!

Nothing much going on here tonight, either. We are going to get take-out from Chili's and watch the DVD's we rented. I have to be to work at 7 tomorrow morning. :scared:

We never do anything for NYE. DW is often working (though not this year - well actually she's there now but hopefully the kid will arrive soon and she'll be home before the morons hit the street). We don't even generally stay up until midnight. DS15 had a NY party last night for his friends (we didn't want to force his friends and their parents into driving about tonight so we hosted it last night). Therefore we're pretty tired and probably will go to bed early.
