anyone else concerned???

I know its free dining but so was last year...

Except last year, Free Dining went all the way from mid-August to the weekend before Christmas (except probably Thanksgiving break, I don't remember for sure on that).

This year, there is no free dining October 8-21, October 29-November 11, and December 3-9 (in addition to Thanksgiving break, November 19-26). So that may be pushing more folks into the slower weeks (which of course is what Disney is trying to do).

But I'm still expecting low crowds for November 12-17. Your trip report from last year was one of the things that convinced us to go then. ;)

I was just looking to start a post like this!!! I did struggle with a few ADRs which I found odd because last year it was EMPTY!!! The only crowd we found the whole time was the F/W festival over the last weekend.

THEN.... I was just checking out the price difference between our hotel and a few deluxes (In case I hate our resort, lol) and there is NO availability at Contemporary, YC, BC, GF, or Poly. :headache: Very limited options at WL and BW... and AKL is wide open, lol. What in the world is going on???

I am really hoping for a quiet/low crowd week like last year :(

Lets keep hoping! See y'all then!! :cheer2:

what it is, it is.........nothing you can do about it or plan for............I don't believe in crowd counters and best days/worse days.......We also don't particpate in the dining plans..........we eat when we're hungry and always find something to suit our tastes. Never cared for most of the TS meals in Disney. We'll be there, nov 29 thru Dec 7 and whatever the level is, we'll enjoy ourselves. don't worry about the unforseen and go in positive.

so will we!! Hope to see you around! I'll be rocking my LGMHW/A PATCH pirate:

I'm going the 15-22nd of Nov, couldn't get Chef Mickey's, LeCellier or Cindy's. I expected Cindy's to be booked solid, but never thought of Chef Mickey's or LeCellier, oh well, just glad I'm going and that I got the ADR's that I did!

Jules

We are booked for the 18th-22nd. We have the ressie's we want except...everybody all together now...LE CELLIER.
Ah, well. We've gone when free dining has been offered before and the crowds have been very minimal until they get jammed into the restaurants.
Can't wait!!!!
I think I'm more excited than my kids.

Yes, its all dolphinndans fault, I picked this week cuz of him to...hahah I got all the adrs I wanted, Im not on the dining plan but I made them quite awhile ago.. I dont really care about the crowds so much, Im just hoping the weather is decent & not brutally humid/hot...

We are visiting from 11/13-11/19 & attending our first MVMCP on 11/16:santa:We usually are June guests but June 2009 was way too HOT for us. I just want to have a chance to visit during a cooler season. I am sure to us it will seem to be low crowds just because of touring in June:wizard: We are very excited:woohoo: Any thoughts on weather that week?

I'm going from 11/12-11/20 and I'm not worried about crowds that week. :confused3 I went the same week last year and it was perfect, low crowds and great weather, and I'm hoping for the same thing this year. Although the more people talk about how great this week is to go, the more and more crowded it's going to get! So let's keep it a secret! :rotfl:

The NCTE conference is the week before Thanksgiving and it is onsite at YC/BC and Coronado this year. There will be thousands of people onsite - it's a HUGE conference and y'all would die if you knew how cheap deluxe rooms were for conference attendees. (hint - YC was cheaper than POR with an AP discount last week!)

I played around a little on the dining reservations site and I didn't have any trouble booking some ADR's. I didn't try for Le Cellier or Cindy's or Chef Mickey's, but I didn't have any trouble with Via Napoli, La Haceinda, O'Hana's or Crystal Palace. Maybe couldn't get the exact time I put in, but there was availiblity. I was even able to change my Brown Derby ADR to a better time for us. We leave the day before the NTCE conference starts so I'm still thinking we'll see low crowds even with Free Dining starting back up that week.

Keep trying on those ADRs!! I coordinated with someone on the Dining boards to get a LeCellier lunch, and I had Cindy's from a few months back.

The boards are super helpful!!

I just looked up the NTCE Convention dates which are Nov. 18 - 21 so hopefully we won't have too much of a crowd. We'll be there from Nov. 13 - 20 so many of our dates are before the convention. :cool1: We're really looking forward to being at WDW at this time of the year, here's to LOW crowds for all of us. :cheer2::cheer2:

Another "wish" for low crowds. We will be leaving the 19th so most of our trip will be before this convention. I checked their page out and they have been given special pricing offers for after 2:00 p.m. and after 4:00 p.m. tickets so hopefully due to the program content they will be coming into the parks late afternoon. We plan on getting to the parks early and enjoying the day and then leisurly dinners and strolling around DTD in the evenings.

Don't forget about the IAAPA convention is in town Nov 16-19 with 25k members attending.

Well wouldn't you know it, our exact dates are 11/18-11/21. Our first night we're doing MVMCP so hopefully crowds won't be too bad at that hard ticket event. We expected pretty decent crowds on the 19th and 20th because it's a Fri/Sat and those days are generally more crowded no matter what time of year. Since we'll be celebrating DH's birthday (the 18th) we didn't really have too much choice in the matter!! We will go into it with a good touring plan, a lot of positivity, and I'm sure we'll have a great time!! I think we should all keep our eyes out for LGMH though with all these dis-ers in the World at the same time!! :thumbsup2

My family and I have been there two years in a row (2008 & 2009) the week before Thanksgiving. We are convinced that it might just be the best week of the year to go - very low crowds and fantastic weather. Conventions or no conventions you should expect the same this year. Have a great trip! :)

The touring plan has very very low numbers, some even BELOW 1. I'm not worried. I was able to get LeCellier 2 months in advance, Crystal Palace at 8:10am also 2 months in advance. Plus, my waitlist for my DVC reservation came through.

Then again, maybe everyone caught onto the secret low-crowd week. :cool2:
