anyone else checking the computer obsessively for new codes?

Yup, obsessively and pathetically checking for AP codes or any codes, frankly for end of Aug. I easily check 4 or 5 times a day, every day, at work, during dinner, etc. My family doesn't see me anymore. I'm beginning to wonder if I need a support group for this addictive nature.

Mostly for the great support I get from the WISH team (a team dedicated to a healthier you!) but also for that incentive trip we're taking in September....
One question, I talked to CRO today and they said you can go ahead and book your hotel- then change it if rates come out to receive the discount. I know several that do this but I was thinking- if we do NOT reserve rooms and they're showing higher rates of vacancies do you think that would affect the discount rates offered? I'm not in marketing but realize that forecasting is a large part of how they respond. All that said, I went ahead and reserved our room- just to make me feel like I'm making progress- I don't have to pay the down payment for another two weeks and I could always just cancel and wait for the rates. It's killing me waiting!! And I can't afford $299 a night! UGH! Having a family of five definitely has its advantages but when it comes to Disney and are kids are so young we want to be in one room together it makes it ouchy!
I'll be thinking of you all and hoping the rates come soon!

Yep, count me in among those waiting (not so patiently though) for a new code, or the next batch of AP's.

Of course, I go back to work tomorrow too, after Spring Break, and probably all "&^%$" will break loose when I'm at work!!

Imhall200. I am in the same situation. I went ahead a reserve the room I can afford, and hope the codes will alow me to upgrade later. Currentlly, I am in POR, but want the Contemporary or even the Yacht Club resort. Good luck.

Yes, I do seem to be checking in quite a lot. But since I handed everything off to DU I'm a lot less stressed about the rates. So, exactly why am I here so much??? It is truly an addiction. Also, I thought Disney Visa had rates out until 8/23? Will they be getting additional ones I wonder?

I have been reading these boards for a while now, and finally decided to register. I'm a little nervous, never done this before. I have been checking every day for new codes also. I check mousesavers, where does everyone else check for codes? Thanks

Between my sister and myself on the dis we are burning up computer time! Its become our 2nd full time job! Anxiously awaiting anything for mid - august! I've already guess-tamated based on the last round of codes / ap rates what we should expect? and if we don't get the offer's than plan #2 goes into effect > where to stay next > back up resorts? We already switched part to poly since poly is usually offered. hopefully we can get that, if not plan #2 moves in to AKL which is usually offered, these 2 seem to be the most frequently listed. I also check the wdw computer for room availablity for our dates every couple of days to see what is filling up. Anyone know a 12 step support group for us?

Just when this is all settled and we are on our way in august, we will be returning and starting over trying to plan and get a discount for december.

I wish wdw would make this easier. MKY

I am in the same boat as you, mkymouse4ever. My trip is planned for August 15-24 and I am going again from December 21-28. My husband thinks that I am crazy because of the amount of time I spend on these boards but he won't be laughing when I (hopefully) save him hundreds of dollars.

I hope that the person who posted about new discounts coming out on Mother's Day is correct. It wouldn't be too bad to wait that long...but anything beyond that and I might really lose my mind!

So glad to see a new "watch" thread out for those of us going after 7/3! Yes, I too am anxiously awaiting! Kicking myself for not going ahead and booking my "backup" resort - POFQ. . . I could have upgraded to WL for what I'm hoping to pay with an AP rate (got my fingers crossed!). Sounds like it's a safe bet (AP rates) . . . any doubters?

Hi gang,

I know for sure that Disney will be offering great discounts for Milatary Personal for stays through December. I think they will start offering it for these quailified folks to start booking on May 1st.

I have also heard that the Disney Visa credit card will also be offering new discounted packages too in a few days.

And, the biggest and best "Packaged" discount for rooms and UPHP tickets for Disney will hit the market right before Mother's Day weekend. So yes, your travel agent was correct.
Humm....I think the words " get free nights" might be part of the promotion.......we'll just have to wait and see what excatly that means. I do know it'll be for vacations for July 4th through the end of October and you'll only have about six weeks to book this in.

So, if I were ya'll I would keep checking ONLINE and in your local newspapers and possiably you'll see this promotion being advertised on your local TV station too. Sounds like it's gonna be huge! But, don't bother calling before then...cause' you won't get an answer on this great new package until it's actually out!

After almost two years of reading these boards I too have finally decided to join in the fun!

I have been spending far too much time checking for new codes. My husband is concerned and is considering setting up an intervention for me.

MMketeer sounds alot like the lovely person from CRO I talked to today. She intimated that I should begin watching my local television stations and reading my local travel section after the 1st of May and I might be VERY pleased with what I saw.

What surprised me most wasn't the boldness of the tip (I have NEVER met a CM that didn't try to get us the best deal on whatever it was we were trying to buy), but my travel dates.

We are not traveling until early OCTOBER. I had suggested that I didn't expect discount codes until perhaps AUGUST, but wanted to get my backup property booked. She repeated her recommendation that I keep a look out in the next week or so -- and I would be "possibly blown away" by the stuff I would see.

So, I am VERY excitedly evaluating my local media for great discounts.
