Anyone else attending MNSSHP on Labor Day?!

Hi,
We will be doing this party for the first time and are excited. Normally we come the first week in September, the past two years had no party this early.

I am just curious if anyone has on the past gone on this day?
Am I being hopefull the park will be not too crowded and all rides will be walk on?

Or will the holiday make it a full park? I am being hopeful thinking many locals will think September 1st is too early to start thinking about Halloween!

I have been to Disney over labour day weekend, it gets very crowded. The best thing to do is either have a chilled day by the pool go into the parks but I wouldn't bother with the rides. Or organise a day trip out to sea world, discovery cove or somewere else.

I don't ever remember MNSSHP as early as Labor Day weekend.

Labor Day weekend is the least-crowded of all holiday weekends. I routinely go this weekend and never find the crowds worse than moderate. (I realize I am disagreeing with the PP, but my experience is what it is.)

We were there over Labor Day weekend a few years ago and it was not crowded at all. I would say 2 or 3 crowd levels.

Since it has hasn't been offered this early before (to my knowledge), there's no way to specifically answer.

Plenty of people in the past have been willing to go about a week later.

We are also first timers with the MNSSHP and September 1st was the only night we can go. I have the same hopes you do, that it will be just too early for most people to consider going.

We will be there on September 1st as well. It will be our second MNSSHP.

They may never have held the party this early in September before but they definitely have held it before Labour Day. We went on September 4, 2009 which was the Friday of the long weekend. There were a lot of people for sure but it wasn't super crowded and I even was able to buy an additional ticket on the day of the party.

I think we'll all be fine!

us also, we are extending our vacation by 1 day just to do the party early or not!

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I've gone to three sold out parties so far, and most rides were walk on or minimal (10 minute) waits. Disney is built to hold lots of people, and when you limit that to a set number, and give them even more, and varied things to do, the rides clear pretty quickly.

We missed MNSSHP since it started after our trip was over. This year it begins the day before our departure. DH is not happy to stay out so late the night before we leave, but I convinced him .

Almost exactly my story, Frann. We have made so many wonderful memories at MNSSHPs throughout the years, but as DGrD10 and DNeph16 have gotten older, I had to stop pulling them out of school so early in the year (we start school after Labor Day). The last week or 2 of Aug has become our regular time to visit. This year it's just me and DGrD for her b'day and we were so excited to see a 9/1 party. We also have an early flight home on the 2nd - but we'll be there!! We are even moving back over from USF to WDW for the night.
I'm expecting it to be crowded because it is the first party, but I'll be surprised if it's a sell out that early in the season - we have found Labor Day weekend very 'doable' crowd wise.
We are now in full costume designing mode here - it will be one of our summer sewing projects.

We will be attending on the 1st as well (also our first MNSSHP, first hard ticket anything!)I am getting the vibe that it is going to be a popular one for exactly as PP have said, extending their trips just to attend it. We only have the 3 day weekend to hit the parks so this will be a challenge for us. We usually do commando touring and have not been for 5 years so all these changes, MB, FP+ etc. has reverted me back to newbie status. We only have our first night on site as well, then off site which complicates things further. We usually stay on-site the whole time . I am REALLY hoping the party is walk on rides ...even tho we are planning to be in MK for the full day, I am worried we will be hitting crowds. I am hoping the Villains Unleashed party the week before (23rd) pulls some from going on the 1st. Honestly if we were going to be there a week earlier I would do both, lol....the Villains are my favorites. My lucky DD gets to do both!
I am super excited tho, but even for me the 1st seems really early for Halloween so maybe it will be the same for others? Guess we will all find out. I would think if Labor Day was a little further out (like next year it fall on Sept 7) that would have lower crowds because kids would be missing further in than a day or two of school)but landing right on the 1st, I'm kinda worried but mostly because we have so few days for the parks. I'm sure it will be a blast tho no matter what!

I think my boyfriend and I will probably attempt to hit the first one this year as well, although we are planning to go a few times this year so it'll be okay if it's busy.
