Anyone else annoyed?

Disney does not have loyality programs so staying with them does not get you anything.

This is not entirely true, you get bounceback offers from staying on property. As I (and another poster) pointed out, they are for everyone staying on property - just call the number that is constantly flashing on the hotel disney channel, or ask an employee (not all of them are fully aware of this program). These offers are not random, the only negative thing about them is the limited time periods you can book your discounted vacation (and that you have to put down $200 before you leave the hotel).

It's a business folks. If you've been 10+ times to the world, why on earth would they send you a discount if you would go back anyway?

I know for example my DSis. She's been down there 3 times during the last 5 years. All three to the WL. However only once she got a package (w/dining). The other two she got tickets and room only.

Both her and BIL get PINs evey few months. They never requested the DVDs, maps or anything. Neither has a DVR. They don't do Disney Movie rewards.

I've stayed onsite 4 times, however 3 of those were business related. I requested the DVDs every year for the last 4 years, maps (twice) and opted for every mailing. I do the movie rewards, and have a DVR (and use it as my primary CC too!). Never EVER I've gotten a PIN.

Looking at it now, I've my spending with Disney. She decreased it (no dining last two times, even less on tickets). So there could be an incentive for them to get her to go back and spend more.

My .02...

Just go to their website (chase.com/disney), log in to your account and go to current offers. I check this fairly often to get the deals. Sometimes I get email reminders on the current offers, but just in case I keep my eye out! The promotions from them are for all Disney Visa holders, not random like Disney's offers so that is a nice break! :goodvibes

Thank you!

I agree that loyalty should be rewarded. However, I am annoyed by the fact that folks with Disney Visas get such great deals. I applied and I was denied. Logic would dictate that people with less than stellar credit need the discount more than someone with great credit. I've got to pay cash for my whole family while someone else gets to delay payment AND get a super deal. Given the state of the economy, WDW is going to have to up the ante on the GP codes if they want to continue their current revenue stream...

If it makes you feel any better only people in the U.S. can apply for the card. It isn't available to anyone not living in the U.S. so they are out those options too

The random part of a bounceback is that they randomly put the paper under doors (I NEVER GOT ONE). However, the discount is for EVERYONE.

Ditto! If you don't get a flier just call the number on the tv or the extension that was going around here on the dis and ask for the offer.

The bouceback offers are targeted discount offers and not a true loyality program. If Disney was serious about repeat visitors they would have a serious loyality program.

I'm not sure how they are targeted as they are for everyone, and I was responding to the fact that you said "staying with [Disney] does not get you anything."

Perhaps you want something like a point system, such as Marriott and the like. That would be nice, but for now we get bouncebacks...it's better than nothing!

I know how you feel, we've been over 25-30 times in the past 7 years and have never received a discount for anything. I think in our case, most of it has to do with being residents and going so often. We can get discount Florida resident seasonal passes but other than that, WDW is really built around out of town visitors.

The "perks" you get on site don't really matter to residents, most of us drive so transportation is no bigee, we go alot so early/late magic hours are no big deal either. Unless you stay in a Deluxe, the rooms are small, they only have double beds, everyone has to sleep in one room (or rent another one if you want privacy), and there's no kitchen.

I'm ok with it I guess, it was the same living in Hawaii-most everything designed for the tourists BUT when the economy falters and people stop going on vacation as much (like after 9/11), then they depend on the resident dollars to offset the cost. That's just business but it still....it kinda makes you feel bad that you aren't good enough for a "hey, come on back and see us again little perk every now and again" but when the tourist season ebbs then all of a sudden it's "WOO HOO RESIDENTS, COME ON DOWN".

Don't get me wrong, I adore all things Disney but dang, even Holiday Inn will give you free nights here and there if you stay with them a few trips.

Well, now with the economy the way it is...we were looking to maybe go in Jan. but I really don't see that happening. I just thought it would be nice to get some sort of PIN. It's great that they are out there-unfortunately for us we haven't gotten any so it looks like no Disney in the near future.:sad2:

The random part of a bounceback is that they randomly put the paper under doors (I NEVER GOT ONE). However, the discount is for EVERYONE. If you call the front desk or ask when you're in the lobby they won't know what you are talking about (at least in our experience). You need to call the booking line. We never got the paper offer but each time we called the number on the tv and booked the bounceback. This has been the same for a few years now as we have done it every year for a while.

My father got the paper card pin code with Sleeping Beauty and it is the same fall discount that everyone had access to about a month later.

I used it when it was available to us all then Disney Visa came out with a much better offer (saving me $2800 between 2 rooms as compared to $800 between two rooms with that earlier pin).

I didn't see the bounce back offer in our room (and didn't know it was random) and asked front desk and they said they never heard of it...finally mousekeeping hooked me up. I did take the number with me so I was going to get the offer one way or another. My point is DON'T COUNT ON THE FRONT DESK!

Well my family and I are a bit annoyed at the random system of the bounceback. We have been over 35 times staying on site, we are loyal to Disney and if we don't get any kind of break so be it. But I called to see if we could get the bounceback since we will be there end of Oct but since the deal ends on the 24th it is a no go for us. We can't go earlier since we really can not take our oldest out of school for more then a day or two without having the school breathing down our neck. (understandable he should be in school). It would just be nice for once when we call and get our trip together that they would just offer us some kind of offer.....

As for the Disney Visa....We pay cash and don't believe in credit cards...(one emergency only) I really does seem like a rip that those who pay cash instead of using credit don't get any kind of insentive either.

I don't blame anyone for taking advantage of these offers,we would if offered....I just wish they could come up with some kind of reward for loyal visitors....:cutie:

We've been over 18 times now and only got a postcard once-when our DD was a newborn and we'd just purchased our house. Needless to say, we couldn't use it then.... that was 8 yrs ago. We've gone to Disney 4 times since then and still have yet to get a postcard or email :rolleyes1 We're registered on every possible website and our neighbors who have been ONCE ever get postcards twice a year it seems and they don't use them :headache:

For now, we just keep checking mousesavers to try to get something :rotfl:

Don't get angry- just get familiar with the system and work it! It's how many of us get our discounts!!!!

I agree with this! Plus, we've gone many times to disney, though not nearly as many as some have listed in this thread. For years, I received pin codes mailed to me and never used them I was stupid and thought they really never saved you money, thought they actually were more money booked as a package and never called on them!:headache: Not very bright of me! And i did nothing to get those. I finally ordered a planning video a few years ago, and still continued to get the offers. Finally discovered the AAA discount and used that several times. Last year I got a fall pin code and just couldn't believe the great rates and just decided to call. I got a great deal for our Nov trip, and kicked myself over the number of times I had thrown such offers away! :scared1: Oh well, so last yr and now this yr, good deals for us. First I found the general public code for our Nov trip, and then came the free dining code for disney visa cardholders(got one back in may for the reward dollars, pay off each month :thumbsup2 ), which was just a little bit better than the gp, all things figured out. I had also received a couple offers for times I couldn't go this year, and also to disneyland. So, I don't think that just because you go often means you won't get a pin code mailed to you, cause I've had a number of them and didn't do anything to get them. :confused3 My best advice is to 1) watch the disboards codes and rates board - somebody will always post about the newest deals out there, 2)get the planning video as some people say it made a difference, 3) get the disney visa if you can, even just to take advantage of the deals offered to cardholders, but reward dollars for paying off the bills each month(discipline!) is great, too!, 4) sign up at the disney site to receive the emails, making sure all info is correct and up to date, 5) check the tv in your disney room for the # for bounceback offers, 6) call every so often and check if their are any pins attached to your name, 7) sign up at mousesavers.com for their monthly newsletters, she also always updates with newest deals, even sending out annoucements apart from the monthly newsletter, and has great info. That's all I can think of at the moment. I must say I'm always surprised when I hear some dissers say the've never heard of the various deals released - someone on the codes and rates board always reports the latest deals coming up! :goodvibes

Well my family and I are a bit annoyed at the random system of the bounceback. We have been over 35 times staying on site, we are loyal to Disney and if we don't get any kind of break so be it. :

People - Bouncebacks are offered to every guest that stays on site! If you stay on site, take a few minutes to watch the Disney resort channel on your television. Call the number and ask to book a bounceback vacation! Thats all there is to it! There is NOTHING random about bounceback offers. While it is true that occasionally they put flyers explaining the bounceback offers under doors, they don't get everyone and they don't always do this. I never get the flyers, but I've always been able to book bounceback stays.

The restrictions: you MUST book your next vacation before you leave, put down a $200 deposit (fully refundable up to 45 days before you leave), and you will be limited to certain times of the year.

I'm sorry for coming off a little strong, but people get so angry for not getting a break and all they have to do is take 10 minutes to read through this thread for a little information. What do they say? Information is power! :goodvibes :goodvibes

I just got back last week and we did not get a bounceback flyer and it was not listed on the Disney Resort channel. (Believe me, I watched for it!) Last year we saw it on the Disney Resort channel and booked it.
I went to the front desk and they said I should have a flyer in my room. I did, and after waiting a couple of more days, I called and was told it ended on the 24th. (yeah, right.) I called right back and was told to contact reservations. After being on hold for a few minutes, the CM came back and said they were able to offer me free dining for next year.
So, it wasn't advertised ANYWHERE, but because of the Disboards I knew it was available. While Bouncebacks might be available to every quest staying during this time frame, they are not necessarily offered to every guest.

I'm sorry if the minister in me comes out in this reply but after reading several posts my mind went to this portion of scripture: Matthew 20:1-16

My family and I have been going to WDW since 1985. In the last 15 years we have averaged three one week trips a year. We have had no discounts or prizes that we were not already entitled to (AP, DVC, Castaway Club, etc) nor do I expect them. I get what I paid for; what I contracted with Disney for. I've never been upgraded on 7 cruises either but I always got what I paid for.

If Disney is nice to me in some extra form then I will certainly be greatful but if they do not give me something extra then I know that I received what I asked for. It has always been a great time! :thumbsup2

While Bouncebacks might be available to every guest staying during this time frame, they are not necessarily offered to every guest.

The only way to ever get a bounceback is to ask for it - you have to call reservations while you are a guest at a disney resort. They don't call you, mail you a special pin, or send an email. I think arguing this point about availability v. offerance is a extreme because the discount is for all disney resort guests. Finally, if a discount is very important to you, it doesn't take much research to find access to at least some discount rates as well as learning about bouncebacks.

Not really. I just wanted to point out that for bouncebacks, sometimes they put a flyer in your room and/or advertise it on the resort tv channel. Sometimes they do neither of these. Therefore, I do see how some people can be a little frustrated to learn that they randomly notify some guests about an offer that is available to all guests. Last year, I was notified via the resort tv ad.
As I said, the only way I knew I was eligible for a bounceback offer this year is because of these boards.

One thing I think I noticed that everyone refers to it as a bouceback offer. I think Disney refers to it as a "future stay" offer. Maybe if you are calling asking about a bouceback offer the CM might not be familiar with that term. Try asking for the future stay promotion.
