Anyone else a shy about posting?

I'm not shy about posting but I only post if I have something to offer a thread or need a question answered. Alot of my posts are from playing the 6 Degrees game. (Probably about 100 of them)

shy? me? yea, I'm shy. I don't like controversy. Try to avoid it like the plague.

yep. shy.

anut4disney...........Don't fret! I've been a member since 2000 and only have a little over 200 posts. I may not be here as much as others, but I do enjoy the DIS. I, like you, do not air too much "dirty laundry" on the boards, however, I do post questions from time to time. I do a lot of reading on the boards and really only comment if I have something useful to say. I also enjoy the "game threads" like rhyming and the song threads. It's not about the quantity of your posts, it's about the quality! Post good information and or interesting things and people will remember who you are whether you have 100 posts or 10,000 posts. Have fun! ....... Jim

I know how you feel. I am shy too, but am trying to be more out going. I am into scrapbooking, so I try to post more on that board. I do read a lot of posts, I just don't respond to as many as I should! :) Congrats on your 160! ;) Hey you are up to 167 now!

You're puppy is sooo adorable!

anut4disney - I'm so shy in real life that I've been told many times that I'm a snob just because I'm not quick to socialize with people that I barely know. I'm pretty shy on the boards, too, but I'm warming up.

Thank you! Her name is Princess and she really does consider herself the royalty of our house! princess:

Yep! I'm shy too!

I come here everyday, and have since I joined. I recognize posters by their name, and even feel like I know many of them...but they don't know me because I rarely post. Pathetic isn't it? Oh well.....I'm posting now! I'm glad you asked the question!!

::yes:: Me too! I feel like I know everyone on the DIS personally, yet they don't know me! Weird, huh? When I'm away from the DIS, I spend time thinking about the things people have posted. My husband just laughs when I talk about what is happening on the DIS! It's a great escape for me (I have 2 young sons).

Maybe all of us who are shy can become friends and start posting more! :wave2:

I'm very shy, too, even in real life. So much so, that I even have a hard time thinking of what to say when I have something to say.

I think my problem is that i dont feel the need to tell EVERYONE what color, size, shape and smell was in my toilet this morning, and then ask everyone how to combat the odor......The things people post here...I just dont get it!!

You could always PM us with that info!! ;)

I'm kidding, I'm kidding!! :)

I'm really shy in real life. I was wicked shy for the first few months I was here. But then I got more involved. I still uhhh refrain from a lot of the nasty threads, and still don't post nearly as much as some people, but I'm getting more involved. For me, there's that voice in the back of my head saying "I dunno if I should be posting here". I'm only 18. I don't always know if my opinion is valued.
You just gotta jump on in. *Most* people here are friendly.

I just noticed that I reached my 160th post. :cool1: Here's the kicker, I have been a member since 1999.

I have been a member since 1999 also. My post count is a few more than yours. I visit every day but seldom post. Don't know what I would do without my daily DIS dose!!

I don't talk much either. :)

Hey, some people are quiet in real life too. There's nothing to be shy about though. Just jump on in and jabber away like some of us do. ;)

You are absolutely entitled to your own opinions no matter how old you are. :) People may not always agree with your opinion, but you are always entitled to it. The ones that bother me are the ones who get downright nasty and judgmental.

I tend to be shy in my real life but once I know someone, I can be more talkative. I avoid posting to controversial threads and try to word my posts to be almost flame proof. Most people here are very friendly and pleasant.

I don't have a problem replying it is the starting a post that I don't like doing.
I"ve probably started MAYBE 7 posts in 5 years!!!!!! lol

I'm sure you'll warm up....

:wave2: Hey, that's me too!

I've lost track of the number of times I've started to post something and then changed my mind. I post mostly on the game and birthday threads and things that are *fun*. I avoid the debate ones like the plague. I don't enjoy the conflict.

No, I'm not shy in real life and I don't mind expressing my opinion on here either. I just enjoy people in general. :wave2:

Hi DisneyArk!

My DD's are both in college now...so I come here for company. Too bad I rarely talk back! But I enjoy getting to know everyone.

Glad to know you!!

Yes, sometimes I am shy about posting. I'm afraid that if I say something, someone will try to find something offensive in it. Then jump on me like a pack of wolverines and rip me to shreads :earseek:
