Anyone done these kids programs?

I was reading in the Unofficial Guide to WDW about these programs and was wondering who has done them and what your thoughts were...

The Ice Cream Social at Epcot
The Wonderland Tea Party at GF
Pirate Cruise at the GF

I have a 6 year old girl and a 4 year old boy and was thinking about done one (or all!) of these but would like to read some feedback from others who have done them.

Any other suggestions for the kids that I might have missed would also be appreciated! Thanks!

I don't think they have the ice cream thing anymore....

one thing that we did last month that was great fun for my kids (5 and 7) was the Jr Chef thing at EPCOT...it's sponsored by Nestle, and the kids make (and get to eat) Toll House Cookies. They get to wear chef hats w/their name, and they actually do the mixing, etc....then the cookies go into the "magic oven" that mysteriously bakes the cookies really fast, makes them all the same size, and cools them really fast. My kids really enjoyed it. It's only done at certain times, so if you want to do it, check the guide and get there early, as it seems to fill up fast!

We haven't done any of them yet, but have plans to do the Pirate Cruise this fall. We have family friends whose sons have done the Cruise, and loved it! They go out without parents, and search for "treasure" at the different resorts around 7 Seas Lagoon.

Unfortunately, the Ice Cream Social has been discontinued. Too bad- we really wanted to try it!

We have done the Pirates Cruise and the Tea Party. My niece was 6 when she did the Tea Party and 7 for the Pirates Cruise. She loved them both and still talks about them. Everything was very organized and the CM's were great. I would reccommend this activities for anyone. She is 8 now and is going to do the Grand Adventures in Cooking as well as the Albatross Pirate Cruise when we go in December. If you have any specific questions about the activities just let me know

Is the Albatross Pirate Cruise the same as the one that departs from the GF? What is the Grand Adventures in Cooking? I'd love more information on them! The previous poster mentioned the Nestle cookie making at Epcot and that sounds like a lot of fun too. I also heard there is an expensive, but worth it Princess Experience with Sleeping Beauty - do you know anything about that? Thank you!

My older 2 boys did the Pirates cruise when they were 5 and 7 and really enjoyed it. It was something that was fun to do once, but now they know what happens so they don't care to do it again.

My older daughter has done these. The Pirate Cruise from the GF was a lot of fun. She was 5 at the time. She was sooo excited to be grown up enough to go somewhere w/o Mommy and Daddy. She came back w/a bag full of trinkets. The Albatross Pirate Cruise sounds similar. It leaves from the Beach/Yacht Club marina. I'm going to try to book this for my kids in January.

She did the Wonderland Tea Party when she was 6. It was fun for her also, but I think overall she prefered the Pirate thing. She's not a tomboy, but she's not a girly-girl either. At the tea party she met the Mad Hatter and Alice.

Last year both girls (DD was 8, younger DD was 4) did Grand Adventures in Cooking. They'd seen it on a Food Network special. They decorated an apron w/their handprints and got chef's hats w/Mickey ears. They baked cookies and then came out into the GF lobby area and served them to guests. It was fun once, but not something we'd do again. DD8 felt too old. And baking cookies isn't really that much of a thrill compared to the pirate cruise and meeting Alice.

I've read about the Sleeping Beauty tea party...it's on this site somewhere. If my older daughter was into dolls, I MIGHT consider it just because I'm a Disney nut and I want to try everything once. My younger DD would be thrilled.

My two girls (5 and 9) and their two friends (same ages) did the Alice Tea party this summer. All four girls LOVED it. They had a blast and want to do it again. Alice & Mary Poppins hosted this party - Mad Hatter was not there, and the girls were glad!

We did the Princess tea party last Thanksgiving and while it was very nice, my 5 yr old (4 at that time) was ready to leave about 1/2 way into it. It was more entertaining for my older daughter and myself. Mostly stories & songs. Sleeping Beauty didn't show up until the party was winding down.
