Has anyone gone to this event yet this year? I wanted to know how the lines were in the shop to buy some of the collectible merch, such as the pins and the watch.

Anybody? I will be there for the last weekend - 11 days away!

Yes, there were no lines to speak of. The LE500 Jumbo pin is long gone, but the logo pin is still available. If you are concerned about something selling out, then make sure you go on Friday.
Try to go to one of the first two WWTBAM shows on the weekend. They are special Star Wars editions, and they are a lot of fun! But beware, you'll realize how little you know about Star Wars!

Thanks! I was planning to go Friday, but that's what I did last year, and was in line for about 45 minutes to buy the watch. I'll try to go earlier this time.

As of Sunday, 5/30, lots of logo pins still around, as well as the other pins. I believe the droid box set was still there too.

We went to the two of the special SW Millionaire shows, and found out that we know wwwaaaayyyy less than we thought we knew! But it was great fun!

We saw Anthony Daniels and the guy who did the voice for Watoo -- very entertaining!

Also saw a 20 minute behind-the-scenes film on Episode 3!!!

There were Stormtroopers all over MGM doing schtick -- it was great!

Have a blast! :earsgirl:

We weren'tgoing to STar Wars weekend last weekend when we are at WDW for DVC Member Homecoming, but ... we extened our stay one more night (Saturday) & went to the Studios for awhile Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no line in the shop outside Star Tours at about noon on Saturday. There were maybe 2-3 guests ahead of me in line. I remember one year waiting in a long line to get SW pins. This year's logo pin is cute. Plus we bought a Jedi Mickey plush!

It is held in the ABC Theater to the left of the Sorcerer's hat about 4 times every day (Fri.-Sun.). There's not much on Episode III, in fact they don't even give the title of the movie. They spend most of the 20 minutes in behind the scenes footage from the first two Episodes, and maybe the last 5 minutes on Episode III. Basically building of props and making a big deal about the script being finished! The most revealing piece of information they revealed is the fact that there will be a serious fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan, obviously not to the death! They also introduced some sort of energy staffs, that are impervious to light-sabers. That's the problem with these movies; the technology in the first 3 episodes seems to be more advanced than in Episodes IV, V and VI.
Oh, by the way, Episode III is scheduled to hit theaters in May, 2005!
