I would love some reviews??? Was the food good? Was there much character interaction? Was it entertaining (we have a 7yo ds)? What were the times it was offered? Would it be hard to get there and back from WL? Did you do the campfire movie or the hayride after? Any tips or advise? Thanks!pirate:

We are doing it during our trip in a few weeks. I do know that it is offered on Tuesdays & Thursdays & that the prices are $39.02/adult & $25.00/child.

Other than that, it'll all be new to me also!

Haven't been lately, but went a couple years ago and had a great time!Food is Disney standard,Ribs, chicken, hot dogs, corn and coleslaw.Wine and beer for adults.About the same food as hoop dee doo! Lots of country music and line dancing. After the dancing you stand in line to greet Minnie and mickey and I think chip and dale?Maybe others!Fort wilderness is a nice break from the parks. All in all I thought it was something different and was glad we went.

I've always been very interested in Mickey's Backyard BBQ, but have been hesitant to spend the money on it. It's only the 2 of us - does anyone know how the seating is done here? Would we be seated closely with other families like at the Luau?

Thanks in advance! :)

It is outside under a huge tent. Don't sit on the end picnic tables, because if it starts to rain, you'll get wet. Also, the bathrooms are away from the tent area, so if it's raining - you get drenched.

Food was fine - nothing special.

If your not into joing in the fun - dancing and such - I feel it's a waste of money. My DS & DH shy away from this type of thing and they were really bored.

Should have done Hoop Dee Doo instead - where your entertained more.

We did the BYBBQ last year. It is pretty much as described above. We(DS 12, 9, 7, and DD3) were bored to tears and left early, along with about five other families at that time. We also found the bus transportation VERY confusing there. This is my own opinion, and like everything at Disney, you really need to try it once and discover it for yourself. Our family definitly will not be doing it again.

DH and I celebrated our anniversary at the BBQ in 2003, and really enjoyed the buffet food (same as HDD, minus the shortcake), the rope tricks, the line dancing, the characters--we gave Mickey a kiss! Seating is at long picnic tables, food is self-serve (so possibly tricky with little ones). We liked the special dance for people celebrating an event. Definitely requires you to participate more than HDD, but we didn't mind. Also enjoyed the beer and wine.

Transportation from WL would be via the ferry, or walking the path from WL to FW (took us about 1/2 hour).
